Fox News host Laura Ingraham went on an eight-minute tirade, using every faux boogie man that far-right Christian/white supremacist nationalists have embraced to smear their political opponents.
I just focused on about a minute of this dribble, but who knew the Democratic Party and the Biden administration (which Ingraham dubs 'The Regime' as if it's Stalinist), want to force all Americans to live in squalid, roach-infested tenements trying to control Christians because they read the Bible.
"Let's face it, the regime sees Climate change as an urgent danger that will destroy humanity unless Americans accept drastic reductions in our standard of living," Ingraham said.
Why is transitioning away from Big Oil a reduction in Ingraham's standards? Maybe because the payouts many Republicans receive to fund Climate deniers from Big oil would dry up?
"They want us to live in smaller spaces, ditch our gas appliances, and certainly ditch our automobiles," she said. "They want to reverse almost all the progress we've enjoyed since the end of World War II."
"And cram us into congested cities and force us to use Beijing-style bike lanes."
"Well, the sane among us see that as just another rerun of what they did with COVID," she said. "An agenda designed to control us and it will do almost nothing to address the alleged problem that they are citing."
That's insane. 'Social conservatives,' as she describes her ilk, are, in reality, MAGA cultists longing for a fascist takeover from a narcissistic baby moron. And want to do away with the Consitution and turn toward their own interpretation of Christianity.
Maybe Ingraham should interview some of the awful landlords she so adores who are raising rents to unconscionable levels for the working class and are forcing middle and lower-class families into impossible living situations.
Any progress the U.S. is making is at risk of being upended by book-banning, culture warrior, gaslighting, wingnut trolls who look to intimidate instead of legislate. Ron DeSantis, anyone?
Most of what Ingraham is preaching ties into the anti-COVID, anti-Vax, climate-denying wackos who are responsible for many more deaths from the pandemic than this country should have had.
There is nothing "populist" about MAGA. It is popular with Bible belt evangelicals who want to regress the country into 17th-century Salem, putting all nonbelievers and nonconformists on trial while killing the planet with fossil fuel.
