Stefanik Can't Name One Program She'd Cut Except 'Woke Agenda'
"Woke agenda" is code word for "I have no specific policies whatsoever, please like me, Maga Republicans."
Rep. Elise Stefanik told Maria Bartiromo that she wants to make severe cuts from federal spending but couldn't give one solid answer as to what they were, outside of using her favorite MAGA trigger words.
House Republicans are holding the debt ceiling hostage to force massive spending cuts on our social safety nets and programs that actually help the working class.
Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo asked what areas Stefanik sees ripe for spending cuts.
"Where would you cut?" Bartiromo asked.
"Now I've been a strong advocate when it comes to making sure we have the resources for strong national security but their woke agenda-- we are to be going after those programs that are not focused on what DOD should be focused on, but are far left radical agenda," Stefanik replied.
Huh? "Woke" and "radical agenda" are not programs, but divisive (and meaningless) adjectives Republicans use to campaign on.
Republicans have been mewling around the rim of cutting some form of defense spending when they are forced to get specific outside of cutting Social Security and Medicare, but when asked what that entails -- they just give word-salad answers
I am all for cutting funds from the Department of Defense when it applies to ridiculous weapons that never work, etc..., but I want the VA and programs that help our troops to be fully funded.
You'd think by now, Republicans would have a few thought-out answers on spending cuts, but they don't.
The fight over Kevin McCarthy's Speakership explains much.
House Republicans are armed with only meaningless investigations, juvenile rank-outs and focus-grouped code words.
Stefanik is an Ivy League-educated person, and this is the best she can do in her JOB. It's pathetic.
