Day Two of the search for the Republican Speaker of the House ended the same as it started. The hard-line far-right Freedom Caucus critters blocked the election of Kevin McCarthy for a sixth time.
The day began with Chip Roy moronically nominating Rep. Byron Donalds as Speaker and never recovered for Republicans.
Rep. Steve Scalise's name had been bandied about as a possible Speaker if McCarthy failed in his bid by many in the Beltway media.
Tuning into the pro-insurrection, MAGA, Real America's Voice media outlet, Scalise's name came up but it was met with derision.
TPUSA's Charlie Kirk wigged out when Scalise's name came up as a possible choice.
Mike Davis, founder and president of the Article III Project told Kirk that Kevin McCarthy's run is basically dead since he can't get the 218 votes necessary to become speaker. And since Jim Jordan doesn't have the votes either.
"So it's going to go to Steve Scalise," Davis said
.
Kirk immediately interrupted.
"But, but Mike. Steve Scalise is a flaming liberal compared to Kevin McCarthy. Why should we support that?" Kirk cried.
What were Scalise's sins, you ask? He was neutral on Liz Cheney and he has a decent relationship with Hakeem Jeffries.
"Is that your argument in favor of Scalise?" Kirk quizzed.
Davis said Scalise is not a flaming liberal and Kirk said, oh yes he is.

"Scalise is worse than Paul Ryan," Kirk said.
The MAGATs want a Divided States of America. They want Republicans to have knife fights with their Democratic colleagues in the halls of Congress.
They're hoping for cage battles in the octagon with teeth bared and no holds barred. To parlay with a Democratic lawmaker is considered treason in MAGA circles.
What MAGA is all about: An anti-American, anti-Constitutional movement brought on by Christian Nationalist fanatics.
It's just sick.
The country is witnessing the cancer they asked for in real time now.
