When the FBI raided Donald Trump's Florida resort Mar-a-Lago, the former President said it was unfair even though he refused to return classified documents that he had taken with him. When documents were discovered on President Joe Biden's property, he immediately turned them in. Trump claims that the President mishandled the documents, and it's a serious matter.
Well, now former Vice President Mike Pence's lawyers found classified documents on his property in Indiana, and Trump is immediately giving him a pass. For the record, Pence immediately turned the documents over to the FBI.
Trump took to Truth Social to demand that Pence be left alone, and I can't tell if the former President is being serious or not.
"Mike Pence is an innocent man," he declared. "He never did anything knowingly dishonest in his life. Leave him alone!!!"
So, the one-term President is no longer targeting Pence. Good to know. It's hard to keep up.
During interviews, Pence claimed that he did not take classified documents with him as he left office. Pence said there would be "no reason to have classified documents, particularly in an unprotected area," yet the documents were discovered in an unprotected area.
