Fox News' Harris Faulkner tried to give aid and comfort to Republicans as they enter day three of the Speakergate fiasco.

Faulkner claimed the Democrats were "put in their place" by Rep. Kat Cammack, after she made a joke about alcohol.

Conover wrote a great article on this when it happened yesterday.

All Hell Breaks Loose When GOP Rep. Accuses Dems Of Drinking On House Floor

"She appeared to act like it was just a joke after her slanderous words were met with jeers. The problem here is that she's not funny. Not even a tiny bit."

Faulkner opened up the segment by highlighting the many lefty Twitter responses trolling the Republican Party of their inability to elect a speaker, and then she turned to Cammack.

"You put them in their place yesterday," Faulkner said. "You had to call the place to order."

(Too bad Cammack didn't put Republicans in their place, but whatevs.)

"Listen, I knew that was probably going to get a few laughs," Kat Cammack said "Did I expect the outrage? Absolutely not. Like I said, it must have hit a nerve."

Cammack said those words for levity over the farce playing out for the GOP, but Faulkner made believe Democrats were getting drunk and then called out for it.

Cammack even stated again to the Fox News host that her words were "tongue in cheek," but no matter.

Fox News is using anything it can find to distract its viewers away from this Republican embarrassment. Highlighting a joke as the truth is nothing new for the network or its hosts.

Faulkner used to claim she was a real journalist.

That ship sailed a long time ago.
