British broadcaster Piers Morgan asked Rep. George Santos about his battle with telling the truth, and although he did admit to being a "terrible liar," he did not accept the blame for that.

The 34-year-old embattled Long Island fabulist said he lied to gain acceptance from local GOP officials. He said he thought he could get away with his lies since he "got away with it" during his failed 2020 House campaign.

"It wasn't about tricking people," George insisted. "This was about getting accepted by the party here locally."

George admitted to being a terrible liar after Morgan listed a series of George's falsehoods and said that any hope of "redemption" has "got to start from [you saying], 'I've been a terrible liar.'"

"Would you be prepared to say that?" Morgan asked.

"Sure," Santos said. "Well, I've been a terrible liar on those subjects, and what I tried to convey to the American people is I made mistakes."

Morgan asked Santos why he thought "no one would find out" about his mountain of lies.

"Well, I'll humor you this: I ran in 2020 for the same exact seat for Congress. And I got away with it then," he said.

George has lied about his religion and education, falsely claimed to own 13 properties, allegedly stole items from his friends, and even stole from a dying service dog's GoFundMe page. George was once charged with stealing puppies from Amish breeders. Every aspect of his life has been fabricated, even when he tried to cover up the revelations that he used to perform in drag.

It's not his local party's fault. It's you, George.
