On Fox News' Outnumbered, the roundtable of Christian conservatives ginned up the "outrage of the day" by claiming Christians are the real people facing bigotry.
Over the weekend, the San Jose Shark's promoted an event called Pride Night at SAP Center. "The team created a Pride warmup jersey, served up rainbow-colored sushi and partnered with Adolescent Counseling Services, a local nonprofit that supports LGBTQIA+ youth."
However, Shark's goalie James Reimer issued a statement that he would not participate in the festivities or wear the new jersey because of his religious beliefs.
The team issued a statement supporting LGBTQIA+ and his decision, "which noted that while the Sharks’ stance is to support LGBTQIA+ rights, they “also acknowledge and accept the rights of individuals to express themselves, including how or whether they choose to express their beliefs, regardless of the cause or topic.”
End of story right?
Nope.
Outnumbered host Kayleigh McEnany read a few negative comments and tweets from around the league about Reimer's decision, which means of course the radical left is coming for your Bibles so they can turn everyone gay.
Lisa Boothe, a Fox News contributor and platinum MAGA member, went ballistic, claiming support for LGBTQIA+ rights, (as well as Black Lives Matter) is really code from society for something else. Something bad.
"It's not about supporting Black people," Booth said. "It's about submission to the Marxist leftist agenda and that's what's being pushed on society right now, and that's why they're so mad."
"He wouldn't wear this and I feel like we're increasingly living in a country where you're not gonna see bigotry towards LGBTQ members, but you are towards Christians," Booth exclaimed.
"Oh, absolutely," Harris Faulkner agreed, off camera.
Emily Campagno was up next to certify that Booth is 100 percent correct.
"There are certain organized religions that the left woke segment of the population has deemed okay," she said. "But instead if you are Judeo Christian, if you are Christian, you are absolutely blacklisted and canceled."
Yawn. Boring. Tired. Trope.
The Shark's team didn't sanction Reimer, or suspend him and everyone moved on. There was no canceling of Reimer or blacklisting of the goalie.
None whatsoever.
But Fox News creates its own reality.
Fox News needed a Christian outrage of the day and they created one.
Reimer made it worse for himself when he said he even knew a Muslim player and didn't hate on him.
What a guy! But that's beside the point.
