The First Amendment protects individuals from government censorship. Still, Republicans want to ban private social media companies from barring people like former President Donald Trump and controversial Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from their platforms. And they want to impose their rules on private companies under the guise of a bill absurdly called "Protecting Free Speech on Social Media."

Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin wasn't having it. He was on fire today and he is clearly sick to death of Republicans' election lies.

Raskin said it "all starts with a Big Lie," which brought us to Jan. 6. "And they say, well, maybe he won. Maybe he didn't."

"'You say Joe Biden is President. We say Donald Trump is President.' Nonsense!" Raskin said. "Sixty federal and state courts rejected every claim of electoral fraud and corruption that they put forward. 60!"

Raskin then did the math on how many voted for Biden and how many voted for Trump. Trump lost the popular vote. Then he moved on to the electoral votes. Again, Biden trounced Trump.

And now the Big Lie stretched to Jan. 6.

"We have to disbelieve the evidence of our own eyes," he said. "Of our own ears. We saw them come and descend upon this chamber! This Congress!"

He wasn't done:

Raskin seemed to be pointing at Fox News's Tucker Carlson, who wants us to believe that the mob that descended on the Capitol was just a bunch of peace-loving hippies taking selfies. The lies have gone too far, and we'll have another Jan. 6 if the madness doesn't stop.

Joe Biden is the legitimately elected President. The end.
