Two juveniles, Christopher Atkins, 12, and Robert Robinson, 17, now face 1st-degree murder charges in the deaths of three teenagers in Marion County. A third suspect is still on the loose.

Sheriff Billy Woods gave a very strange press conference, demeaning reporters (remind you of anyone?) and giving pro-gun statements.

“There are individuals out there viewing, and to include some of you media, who want to blame the one thing that has no ability or the capacity to commit the crime itself, and that’s the gun," Sheriff Big Brain said. "These individuals committed the crime. So what’s the solution? I wish I could give you that answer because this world would be a whole lot better. But the fact is, society fails it. We do not hold our juveniles accountable. We minimize their actions,” Woods said. “...School districts across the state and across this nation need to quit minimizing the actions of their students. Hold them accountable. That’s where the failure is.”

"All the gun laws we got in place didn't prevent it, did it?" he insisted. "The bad guys gonna get a gun no matter what law you have put in place!"

That's false. We live in a gun-saturated country, and conservatives call for more guns. Until we stop this madness, it's going to get worse. The more guns we have in the U.S., the easier it is for the bad guys to get ahold of them. This isn't hard. Woods went on to blame schools.

He said that he gave the barber permission to whoop his kids' asses.

In 2020, as Covid spiked, Woods banned police officers from wearing protective face masks on the job.

And just like that, he's become a hero to conservatives on Twitter.

UPDATE: Turns out Sheriff Billy is a so-called "Constitutional sheriff" who subscribes to the theory that he is above all law. Special!
