Donald Trump's typical legal strategy is pretty predictable:
1. Attack the judge.
2. Attack the prosecutor.
3. Call it a witchhunt.
4. Play the victim.
5. Election interference!
6. It's a hoax!
7. I did nothing wrong.
8. They are really indicting you.
9. Delay.
10. Complain publicly.
11. More delays.
12. Motions.
13. More delays.
14. Hope to get relected.
15. Delays.
On Friday night he put out a bonkers Truth Social post where he basically threatened retribution against anyone who went after him, saying:
'IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I'M COMING AFTER YOU!'
Within hours the DOJ had filed a motion requesting a protective order (not to be confused with a gag order, which I would prefer). A protective order against witness intimidation or usage of discovery documents or information provided in those documents.
The judge ordered Trump's team to file an official response to the motion by 5pm on Monday. Reasonable.
Trump's legal team freaked out and begged for a 3 day extension until Thursday at 5pm. Delay!
DOJ said, legally, "nuh uh...please deny this stupid delay tactic"
The judge DENIED it pretty quickly, keeping her original Monday 5pm deadline.
She clearly is on to his delay tactics and does not seem interested in entertaining these shenanigans in her courtroom. Sounds like the exact type of judge that Trump will hate...and the DOJ will love.
