Democratic Rep. Jamaal Bowman is under fire for pulling a fire alarm in a Capitol office building on Saturday, and Republicans are trying to liken it to the Jan. 6 insurrection, despite that the two incidences aren't even similar. Former President Donald Trump weighed in, too, calling for Bowman to be "imprisoned" while suggesting that the Democrat "suffer" the same fate as the Jan. 6 defendants.

"Will Congressman Jamal [sic] Bowman be prosecuted and imprisoned for very dangerously pulling and setting off the main fire alarm system in order to stop a Congressional vote that was going on in D.C.," Lumpy wrote on Truth Social.

"His egregious act is covered on tape, a horrible display of nerve and criminality. It was a very dangerous "Obstruction of an Official Proceeding," the same as used against our J-6 prisoners," he added. "Actually, his act may have been worse. HE MUST SUFFER THEIR SAME FATE. WHEN WILL HIS TRIAL BEGIN???"

In a separate post, Trump just wanted to let you know that he's not rooting for America:

EUROPE JUST BEAT THE USA IN THE RYDER CUP. CONGRATS TO TEAM EUROPE! REPLACE SETH WAUGH, A LONG TIME KNOWN LOSER!

Bowman put out a statement on Saturday.

"Today, as I was rushing to make a vote, I came to a door that is usually open for votes but today would not open," he explained. "I am embarrassed to admit that I activated the fire alarm, mistakenly thinking it would open the door. I regret this and sincerely apologize for any confusion this caused."

"But I want to be very clear: this was not me, in any way, trying to delay any vote. It was the exact opposite -- I was trying urgently to get to a vote, which I ultimately did, and joined my colleagues in a bipartisan effort to keep our government open," he added.

Trump loves to create chaos, and that's all the shit-stirrer does. The incident is under investigation and doesn't need a "trial."
