Don't get me wrong. I don't hate Christmas. But the constant hard sell of everything Christmas turns my good cheer upside down. You can't go anywhere or do anything without it being shoved down your throat. Every TV station seems to have Christmas movies and specials 24/7. When driving, I either turn the radio off or, even worse, turn on squawk radio to avoid Christmas songs. And no matter what - radio, soundtrack to a movie or TV show, music played at a store - not only is going to be Christmas songs, but at least once an hour, they play Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas." It's almost like it's a law or a cult thing.
So even though Shirley Serban's parody is set to the same music, the words give it that special meaning for the holidays.
