After two unvaccinated children in Pennsylvania died after contracting measles, HHS Secretary and anti-vaxxer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. all but declared that’s a small price to pay for his so-called MAHA agenda.
Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany, a liar extraordinaire, hosted a “town hall” with Kennedy that provided him a forum to legitimize his deadly disinformation. It was also conveniently timed given that just two days earlier, Kennedy was caught lying to Congress about his lethal anti-vaccine activism.
Kennedy dismissed the two "so-called 'measles deaths.'" But clearly, he doesn't care. He sneered, “In 10 years, there have been three measles deaths in America. There are now about 1.2 million deaths every year from food-induced illness.”
In reality, more measles cases have been reported in the United States under his watch than from 2000 through 2024, combined. The number for 2026 alone was 2,318 as of July. Also, Kennedy either doesn’t know or, more likely, hid the fact that the dangers of measles go far beyond “just” death. They include brain damage and blindness, e.g.
Not that McEnany challenged any of Kennedy’s dangerous BS. That left him free to attack the media and “certain, you know, demagogue politicians” for “constantly trying to scare us about infectious disease.”
That, he whined, “take[s] the attention away from the chronic disease that is being caused by powerful entities, by big food companies, by big pharmaceutical companies, and what I'm trying to do as HHS secretary.”
Kennedy then described his work as: “one, deal with the infectious disease outbreaks, which we're doing, but also redirect attention and resources to the thing that's really killing Americans, which are foodborne diseases.”
Yeah, well maybe Secretary Brainworm has forgotten, but food safety has been compromised under his tenure. That’s according to MAGA CBS. In addition to the more than 24,500 cases of cyclospora this summer, it feels like every other day we learn of more contaminated food.
This man is a menace to Americans’ health. Kennedy should have no place in any public health system, much less in an administration that postures as “pro-life.”
