We knew it would be weird when the news went public that President Donald Trump and his former fixer turned state's witness Michael Cohen would be sitting down for an interview together on Cohen's WABC 77 New York radio program.

But, honestly, it got even weirder than we were prepared for.

Trump heaped a mountain of praise on his former personal attorney for doing the "brave thing" and "recanting" all of the testimony he's given against the President over the years, stating that Cohen was a victim of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and a Democrat-run "weaponized government" that the President likened to the Wild West. According to Donald, Cohen was forced by a rigged system to warp his testimony as part of the truly neverending witch hunt that seems to be constantly raging against Donald Trump for over a decade now.

"Look, you took back, you recanted your testimony," Trump told his old fixer in the bizarre radio interview. "They forced you to do that. They threatened you with jail, they threatened you with everything if you didn’t go against Trump — and you took it back. I wouldn’t even be talking to you right now if you didn’t, to be honest. You did something very few people have done."

Here's the thing: Cohen has not recanted his testimony in any way that actually means anything. He has harped on the notion of personal "forgiveness" and criticized the aggressive pressure he says he was subjected to by prosecutors, something the Trump legal team has used to its advantage in appeals, and has gone so far as to resubmit an application for a presidential pardon (which, in my opinion, is likely the driving force behind this whole mess). Still, when it comes to actually filing any official, legal retraction of his testimonies, Cohen has not.

Nevertheless, much in the same way that Trump seems to believe that redactions equate to exoneration, he continued to harp his heart out about his old pal's sudden change in tune and the evil that is Alvin Bragg, the "disgraceful" FBI, and New York Attorney General Letitia James.

A lot of people wouldn’t have been able to take it. You took it for a while, in all fairness, then they broke you down — but you came back.

Look, Tish James and Alvin Bragg, what they did to you — and they used you, and what you did was actually a brave thing, because you said what they did was wrong. They forced you to say things you didn’t want to say; they forced you to say things that were false, because they have a threat with jail — and every other thing, probably, I don’t know, I never spoke to you about that — but probably the worst things that you can imagine.

"I think it’s so amazing that you came out and you told the story and people respect you for doing it," Trump added.

Cohen made sure to add in an extra pathetic little plea for sympathy when he noted that not everyone respects him for his about-face -- actually, a whole lot of people hate his squirmy, spineless guts for it.

Cohen served as the star witness against the President in two separate cases -- the 2023 civil action brought against Trump by Letitia James on charges of fraudulently inflating his business assets, and the infamous 2024 Stormy Daniels Hush Money criminal trial brought against Trump by Alvin Bragg that earned the President his 34 felonies.

Naturally, Trump and Cohen had a massive, public falling out as a result of those testimonies, leaving people particularly stunned when they learned that the President would be appearing on Cohen's radio show. But, honestly, it shouldn't have come as too much of a surprise, as Cohen has spent the last year or so attempting to snivel his way back into the President's good graces. Earlier this year, the former Trump fixer publicly stated that he "felt pressured and coerced" to mold his testimony in a way that propped up a political witch hunt against Donald Trump -- a move that instantly led progressive media company MeidasTouch Network to drop the spineless toad like a hot potato.
