Republican Sen. John Curtis of Utah would like your attention. Or, more to the point, he’d like the media’s attention, and he is getting it in spades. But don’t fall for his schtick, even as you let him cook.

Curtis is getting accolades for calling on the Senate Judiciary Committee to investigate the wildly corrupt Donald Trump Jr., but he’s paired that call with a demand that the committee also investigate Hunter Biden.

Indeed, Curtis’ letter to the committee, sent on Monday, doesn’t get around to mentioning Don Jr. until the second page. Instead of focusing on the president’s corruptest son, it leads off with a rehash of the “conflicting accounts” of whether Hunter Biden traded on his father’s name in dealings with China and Ukraine, then it meekly segues into saying that maybe someone should look at Don Jr. for letting Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev pick up the tab for some of his destination wedding festivities.

Come on, man. Grow a spine, call for Don Jr. to be investigated, and acknowledge that, in contrast, Hunter Biden has already been investigated to hell and back, turning up nothing even remotely close to Don Jr.’s cavalcade of corruption.

Curtis is also just bandwagoning, given that Democrats on the House Oversight Committee are investigating the president’s son. That’s not to say that the Senate Judiciary Committee shouldn’t join in, but more that Curtis isn’t really out on a limb here.

Part of why the Don Jr. wedding thing is so openly, obviously corrupt is that the dude has plenty of money to pay for his fancy wedding many times over. His net worth has skyrocketed since Daddy retook the White House, going from roughly $50 million in November 2024 to $300 million by December 2025.

He is the fattest little piggy at the government trough, with he and brother Eric having landed billions in government business since January 2025. Now, their companies are on the extra-special list of preapproved contractors eligible for another $200 billion in your tax dollars. Neat!

Don Jr. didn’t let Kremlev pay for his wedding because he’s cheap, though of course he is. He let him pay for it because he has no problem owing a Russian oligarch a favor. Indeed, there’s no doubt he relishes it.

According to Don Jr.’s dad, it’s common to have oligarchs pay for your wedding, but also it got paid back, so LEAVE JUNIOR ALONE. “Well, it’s totally allowed, and a lot of people have parties, and all, but it’s totally allowed,” President Donald Trump said. “But as I understand it, he paid him back. He didn’t want to have that, so I hear he paid him back.”

In contrast with Don Jr. being part of the most corrupt family to ever do it, allegations that Hunter Biden somehow made a squidzillion dollars illegally by trading on his father’s name have been debunked time and again.

And Hunter has already been dragged through the criminal justice system, convicted in part under a law that the Supreme Court invalidated earlier this year. Hunter’s terrible and corrupt and profitable crime was … checking a box saying he wasn’t an unlawful user of a controlled substance when buying a gun.

Given that this administration can’t get rid of gun laws fast enough and can’t allow corruption big enough, Curtis pretending that Hunter Biden’s actions are in some way equivalent to Don Jr.’s and warrant looking into again is gross as hell.

Just man up and subpoena Don Jr. without the fig leaf of going after Hunter Biden as well, you wuss. You want the glory, then show some guts.
