On Sunday, Rob Shuter’s newsletter, Naughty But Nice, reported that CBS News Editor-in Chief Bari Weiss has been discussing the possibility of bringing recently fired Maria Bartiromo onto the prestigious TV news program 60 Minutes.
“Maria and Bari have already spoken,” a television insider told Shuter. “Maria isn’t sitting around licking her wounds. She’s moving fast, and 60 Minutes is absolutely in the mix.”
It's been reported that Fox News fired Bartiromo over leaking private network information to the Trump administration.
This should give any credible network pause to hire the MAGA Queen, but not for Weiss.
Since she began meddling in the affairs of 60 Minutes, the show has lost a substantial amount of on-air talent, producers, editors, and the like including Scott Pelley, Anderson Cooper, Guy Campanile, and Tanya Simon.
In a private Facebook post that the Guardian acquired, "Campanile said he, Tanya Simon, Draggan Mihailovich, Matthew Polevoy, Scott Pelley, Sharyn Alfonsi, and Cecilia Vega “refused to be accomplices in the destruction of the most prestigious news program on American television.”
Since Bartiromo left CNBC for Fox Business Network, she's lost all credibility as a reliable truth teller after she became a favorite Trump apologist.
Is Bari Weiss so desperate to find any conservative on-air talent, she'd hire a purveyor of right wing propaganda like Bartiromo?
Maybe so.
