Whiskey Pete Hegseth and his Mommywife could not be doing a worse job of running the Pentagon if they were foreign agents sent to destroy it. But the ever-spineless Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, has publicly admitted that he doesn’t care, can’t be bothered and is not qualified to do his Constitutional job of acting as a check and balance on the executive branch.
On Tuesday, Speaker Worm was asked about Hegseth's purge of experienced military leaders in the Pentagon – in the middle of a war, no less. “How do you explain what’s happening at the Pentagon, and do you have any concerns about this pattern there?” a reporter asked.
Shorter Johnson: I know nothing, I don’t want to know and I don’t care.
“I have enough to say grace over in the legislative branch over here in the House,” Johnson began. “I don't really get involved in personnel decisions at the Pentagon. I trust the secretary of war to handle his business over there, and I frankly have not delved into those individual cases.”
“I mean, I literally don't have the bandwidth to go over there and micromanage the Pentagon. Okay, so I have to trust that they're doing the right thing. … But I'm really, I'm literally not qualified to address it.” He added.
When an unqualified guy like Hegseth hollows out the leadership of the Army in the middle of a war, it’s hardly micromanaging to be concerned. If Johnson feels he is not qualified or too busy to address that, he should have a committee look into it. Our national security is at stake, for Chrissakes.
If Johnson doesn’t want to or doesn’t feel capable of doing his job, he should step aside and let someone else do it.
Either way, it could not be more crucial that he gets voted out of power in November.
