Outgoing Texas Sen. John Cornyn told CNN's Manu Raju that he won't fundraise for Ken Paxton, who was endorsed by Trump and then lost the primary to the former AG, saying Paxton is a flawed candidate and that this is how some majority parties become minorities.

Wow.

RAJU: So you're not planning on helping them at all, fundraising?

CORNYN: That's correct. That's correct.

RAJU: Why is that?

CORNYN: Well, for all the reasons that we pointed out in the primary, I think, you know, the risk for Republicans is that if we nominate flawed candidates in November, we risk losing.

And we haven't, we haven't elected a Democrat in Texas statewide since 1990, well before 1994.

And this is the way that, you know, majority parties become minority parties by nominating candidates that are less than appealing to a general election electorate.

There may not be a more corrupt and "flawed" Senate candidate in modern times than Ken Paxton.

"Does he deserve to be a senator?"Raju asked

"I'll let the voters decide that one," Cornyn replied.

This political observer suggests Cornyn wants Paxton to lose the seat to justify his disdain and actions.

We hope so, too.
