In a desperate attempt to keep his disgusting Kennedy Center takeover hidden from the court, Donald Trump just whipped out his old "executive privilege."

The president has a long history of treating executive privilege as a catch-all "Get Out of Jail Free" card that can be used anytime, anywhere, for anything, and no one is allowed to question it.

When it comes to Democratic House Rep. and Kennedy Center board member Joyce Beatty's sweeping lawsuit against him, pushing back against his horrifying attempt to overthrow the beloved performing arts venue, he seems to have grown desperate enough to pull out what he thinks is a big gun yet again.

The president asserted his claim to executive privilege in the Kennedy Center lawsuit in a court filing on Wendesday, claiming that Rep. Beatty's suit initiated “overbroad discovery requests that expressly implicated the President’s involvement in the Kennedy Center’s management and operations, and called for information, documents, and communications concerning that involvement.”

Trump's deputy assistant and deputy counsel, Joshua Hoyt, wrote in the filing, "Those requests are improper, and this Court should deny Plaintiff’s motion to compel. Plaintiff’s arguments to the contrary fail to convince."

The long and short of it? Donald Trump is absolutely desperate not only to keep the documents related to his takeover hidden from the courts, but also to avoid having to testify in this case personally.

Beatty launched her lawsuit against the president last year in an effort to thwart Donald Trump's attempts to overtake the beloved, world-renowned Center, slap his name on every corner, crack, and crevice of the place, and shut it down indefinitely while conducting all of the "repairs" he wants to do to rebrand the venue in his name. Despite multiple court orders prohibiting many of his actions regarding the Center, the president has continued to rely on his hand-picked board of loyalists to help him roll full steam ahead, court orders be damned.

Ironically enough, Trump, his board, and his legal team have repeatedly asserted that the Kennedy Center is in both physical and, more importantly, financial ruin and the only thing that can save the place is giving Donald Trump what he wants.

But, unsurprisingly enough, internal documents, tax returns, and financial data have not only proven the president wrong, but actually proven the exact opposite -- Donald Trump's hand in the Center has actually been the driving force behind the venue's financial collapse, with multiple reports confirming that performers have pulled out, ticket sales have plummeted, donations have disappeared, and the Center's cash reserves have all but completely dried up as a direct result of the president's involvement in the venue.

Speaking with The Washington Post recently, director of the arts management program at American University, Andrew Taylor, said, "The burst happened up the pipe. The water stopped flowing into the organization because of the choices the administration was making."

Everything that man touches goes to complete and utter shit, from the Reflecting Pool to the Kennedy Center and everything in between -- and no amount of "executive privilege" will ever change that.
