Putnam County, NY Assemblyman Steve Katz was ticketed for marijuana possession Thursday after he was stopped for speeding at 80 mph in a 65 mph zone on the New York State Thruway, state police said. Katz, a Republican who voted against a marijuana legalization bill last year, was found in possession of small bag during the speeding stop after a state trooper noticed the odor of marijuana coming from his car.
