Occupy Berkeley protesters are facing off with police in riot gear after being served with an eviction notice on Wednesday.
A notice given by the city of Berkeley earlier in the day stipulated a Wednesday night deadline for protesters to leave the Bay Area's last big Occupy camp in Martin Luther King Jr. Park.
Some people could be seen packing-up after nightfall. Police and protestors clashed once early on, but as of 10 p.m. there had been no arrests.
An early show of force came just after dusk as officers confiscated one tent and pulled it across the street to police headquarters.
There have been several incidents of police assaulting people in the livestream, and as of 1:30 a.m. PST, persons via the livestream also said that 911 was refusing to send ambulances to treat injured protesters.
