Political punk favorites Against Me! are releasing a new old record. The Original Cowboy EP will come out on July 7th on Fat Wreck Chords, the label owned by NOFX frontman Fat Mike and Against Me!'s former home. The EP was originally a demo made in 2003 for producer Rob MacGregor, who worked on the band's next album, As the Original Cowboy. The EP will feature eight unreleased tracks and many others that were rerecorded for As the Eternal Cowboy.

Against Me! formed in 1997 in Gainesville, FL, a hotbed for gritty, working-class sounding post-punk in the late 1990's. The scene grew mostly as a result of the hugely influential Hot Water Music, a band that made every kid in North Florida start their own, including Against Me! frontman Tom Gabel. They released their first album in 2002, and in 2005 signed with Sire Records. New Wave, a big hit for such grit, was their first on the label in 2007.
