Bill Maher has not spared President Barack Obama some truly withering criticism on his show, Real Time. But nevertheless, the Republican slate has become so extreme, so crazy and frankly, so frightening, that Maher is willing to forgive Obama his shortcomings and failures. Truly putting his money where his mouth is, Maher announced at the end of his "Crazy, Stupid Politics" online comedy show that he was donating one million dollars to PrioritiesUSA Action, an Obama PAC.

If the Republican world that we have seen described in the last year in these debates and over the last hour in my little performance for you tonight doesn’t scare the sh*t out of you, I don’t know what does. I’m doing it not just for a better nation, but to actually protect whatever money I have left. This is the wisest investment I think I could make on a selfish level, because I’ll tell you something folks, who I know look at these Republican clowns and think it’s in the bag: no, it’s not. Obama could lose. This is America,. Remember, we only get two parties and half the country is f**king nuts.
