This Week marks the passings of basketball coaching legend John Wooden, actress Rue McClanahan, artist and feminist Louise Bourgeois and Trivial Pursuit inventor Chris Haney. In addition, the Pentagon has released the names of five service members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

According to iCasualties, the total number of allied service members killed in Iraq is now 4,720; in Afghanistan, 1,797. The total number of Canadian casualties now is 146. (h/t Calgary Lady and PeterG) During this same period, Iraq Body Count lists 77 Iraqi civilians killed. According to recent news accounts, the Afghanistan head of Al Qaeda was killed in a drone attack in Pakistan.
