Now I need someone to clarify this for me. What I had the initiative explained as was thus: Instead of all the electoral votes going to whoever has the majority in California, they split up the votes.
While the Republicans are obviously pulling this out in the face of certain defeat I wouldn't call this a "Dirty Trick".

True. They could pull some quite devious "dragons" if they were given the opportunity. I'm against this - but I just felt the add was a bit propoganda-ish.

No you don't have to live in CA. Join CA's movement and support them. This is the beginning of a National Redistricting effort that began in Texas 4 years ago and they pulled it off. Dems left the state to avoid the vote in TX at the time, remember?
They like to hold these elections at odd times, in this case June '08 because they're counting on people not showing up because of non-traditional voting times. CA has 3 off-season issue voting sessions this year. It's a tactic. People not showing up will get the repubicans their Redistricted CA, republican stronghold in a democratic state. National Election stolen from CA. They'll do it in your state too.
Just as Florida '00 theft emboldened the Repugs to steal '04 thru Ohio. Redistricting while people are not paying attention is the beginning of the end unless we STAY ALERT and broadcast what they're up to.
Damn right send material to your representatives! Let them know you know and what they should know. For once let's not let the damage happen before the fact. This is healthy. Waking up is vibrantly healthy and necessary!
