James O'Keefe must be awfully desperate for attention if he's resorting to stunts like this one: O'Keefe's New Bombshell: Wear Bin Laden Mask To Cross The Border:
Self-styled guerrilla conservative documentarian James O'Keefe released his latest bombshell on Monday: A video that features O'Keefe, dressed as Osama bin Laden, crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.
Filming at a narrow strip of the Rio Grande River in Hudspeth County, Texas, O'Keefe bemoans the lack of border security with county sheriff Arvin West. "I don't see a single federal officer anywhere," O'Keefe says.
He then crosses — illegally? — into Mexico and wades back across the Rio Grande into American territory. "Let me tell you something, if the president or Sen. (Harry) Reid or anybody tries to tell you our border is secure, they are lying to you," he laments. [...]
Gawker noted a couple of problems with the latest bombshell — such as the apparent absence of video showing O'Keefe crossing a frequently patrolled road or other obstacles during his six-mile journey to I-10, from where O'Keefe notes that he could get "anywhere in the United States."
As Media Matters noted, this latest stunt was so bad, even Fox's Eric Bolling it telling him to "give it a rest": Even Fox News Host Isn't Amused By O'Keefe's Osama Bin Laden Border Crossing Stunt :
Controversial filmmaker James O'Keefe, known for deceptively editing videos in order to push his canard of "political disinformation," released a video of himself dressed up as Osama Bin Laden to purportedly show how a terrorist could easily get into the U.S. from the Mexican border. Gawker immediately debunked the O'Keefe video, explaining that the area O'Keefe claims to have crossed in includes a "well-patrolled road that runs parallel to the river" and other obstacles that did not appear in his video.
And even Fox News dismissed O Keefe's latest stunt.
During the August 8 edition of The Five, Bolling explained that talking about real border issues is helpful, but "what's not helpful [is] ... filmmaker James O'Keefe donning an Osama Bin Laden mask and crossing the Rio Grande." Bolling added that O'Keefe should "give it a rest."
