Mike's Blog Round Up
December 20, 2014

So, regarding The Interview, it appears that it wasn't so much Sony that caved, it was, more broadly, Hollywood (and the movie industry generally, including theater chains). And not liberal Hollywood (or the left-wing Hollywood of right-wing imaginings) but corporate Hollywood, where fear and profit are apparently more important than art and liberty. What else is new?

Can It Happen Here?: The problem with making a movie about killing a sitting head of state.

Lawyers, Guns & Money: The right's commitment to states’ rights is hypocritical BS.

And turning to science (and its ignorant discontents):

Panda’s Thumb: The groundless annual ritual of ID self-congratulation.

Booman Tribune: Arctic amplification and the acceleration of global warming.

The Existentialist Cowboy: String theory, parallel universes, and the existence of time.

Round-up by Michael J.W. Stickings of The Reaction. (Twitter: @mjwstickings.) I'll be here through the weekend.
