Something about the events of this week drew me to David Cronenberg classic "Head 'Sploding" flick from 1981.

"Scanners" are the children of women who took an experimental drug during their pregnancies and grew up with scary powers. Mostly they remain outcasts until Michael Ironside decides to turn them into an army.
