Where does Fox News dig these characters up? Really. They never cease to amaze. There's no limit to what they'll say anymore. This is the logical endpoint of the "Obama is a secret radical" meme that Fox has been flogging the past several months.
Telling people that the president hates the country -- that's just plain ol' depraved. It's sick. These people are sick, sick, sick.

What I find amazing is Charles Krauthammer's column this morning that appeared in the Washington Post, in which he refers to President Obama as a "scoundrel." It seems that these conservatives have literally lost their minds. I have no issue with someone who disagrees with any president of the United States, but it seems that the full wrath of the right wing, especially those on the fringe, have been unleashed on the first black president of the USA.

If liberal commentators claimed "opinion this" and "opinion that" without providing facts and context I wouldn't be liberal. I can't fathom how someone sees something like this and doesn't think "This confirms my worldview" but instead thinks "I am receiving facts and information."

OK'd torture, illegal wiretaps, extraordinary rendition. Suppressed dissent everywhere he appeared. Used the Justice Dept. as his own instrument of political dirty tricks. Shredded the Constitution he swore to uphold. Pissed off America's longtime allies. Forever sullied U.S. international prestige. Claimed to talk to God.
And that's just the short list.
Obama: Elected by a large majority. Brought hope to the entire word. Been in office all of 8 months. Got the stimulus package passed. Staved off a complete financial meltdown. Passed the first middle class tax cut in more than a decade. Started the first real healthcare reform effort in 15 years. And his election has automatically improved America's international standing.
And yet, Obama's the one with "malevelance toward this country".
To quote Barney Frank: "Madam...on what planet do you spend most of your time?"
Did that silly bitch say her view of Obama would "change somewhat" if he did the one thing she wanted him to do to change her view? That's it? Somewhat?
That's a lie too. If he captured "the 3 stooges" she would say it was Bush and Cheney's policies that led to their capture. That silly right wing hag wouldn't give Obama anymore credit for that that she would Bill Clinton for leaving a legacy of peace and prosperity.

Every major city in America has at least one talk radio host whose career is dependant upon leveling outrageous accusations against Obama and Democrats in general. There is an audience out there that loves the hate fest and there is also a sufficient supply of talking heads who will say anything to stoke the fire. Fox gives them an opportunity to display their "talent" and then it's back to the local crazies after the requisite 15 minutes of national attention.
Brilliantly said. What saddens me is not only the fact that you're right and Fox and Clear Channel give a stage to pukes like Bruce but that they can afford to! Fox and Clear Channel could not do what they do without advertiser support.
Everyday, people in offices across the country decide its perfectly Ok to advertise on these stations, supporting this ever rising level of unvarnished hate and vitriol from Bruce, Beck, Rush, Malkin, Hannity, O'Reilly and on and on and on. They think as they write the checks for the ads to air on these stations, no harm will come from it. Or worse - they don't care.
It is very short-sighted and selfish thinking IMHO.

Fox is cable, not subject to the FCC, Clear Channel is broadcast on OUR airwaves and basically a monopoly.
We may not be able to stop faux news, but Clear Channel should not be on OUR airwaves. The FCC should shut it down and the FEC should break it apart.

What Fox and Clear Channel do in enabling pukes like Bruce, is fuel the flames of hate for the purpose of civil war. They know what they are doing. Like any war, you first unite the factions, force them to stand "for us or against us". Then you decide on an "enemy" and first through words diminish said enemy. Paint them as less than human. Less than "one of us". This provides the rational to use violence against this enemy and any that follow them. Then leaders and followers alike of this new "movement" slowly begin to call for segregation and conduct themselves in a way that no longer participates in the governing process. This while accusing the "enemy" of being the one who is "un-American". When these actions finally lead to singular acts of violence for their cause they either stand in wild support or else stand as united community - stunningly silent in consent.
Folks, these GOP Christian-right radicals don't want to be part of any solution to our country's problems. Not when they see only a Black man in the White House that they think is the Anti-Christ. They want their country back. They want to "WIN". Regardless of how they get there.
Face it. Facts don't matter to them. They believe and build great monuments depicting a 6 thousand year old Earth - man walking side-by-side with Dinosaurs. Having their hypocrisies revealed doesn't matter to them and doesn't slow them down in shame. How many GOP elected leaders - church Leaders not to mention drug-addled talk show hosts have been shown to be complete phonies!?! Yet they are hero's to their movement supported by billions of dollars.
You can't expect a to govern as before when a former political party turned political movement -refuses- to participate in democratic processes that have stood the test of time for hundreds of years - only to break down once with dire consequences.

I think Ms Bruce is right on target. I found it interesting that the Pres didn't appear on Fox yesterday. Doesn't he or his staff watch the ratings? Fox outscores each of the other networks consistently.
I get the distinct feeling that he doesn't want to talk to us or is he afraid of the questions that might be asked. Either way, I see his actions as very cowardly.
