Teabaggers want a voice in health-care forums -- one that disrupts, attacks, and distracts
By David Neiwert Saturday Aug 01, 2009 7:30am
We noticed the other day that tea partiers are being organized into a campaign of disruption and intimidation at health-care forums. As Politico reports, the disruptions at town halls are becoming quite common.
It turns out that, as Lee Fang at Think Progress reports, the disruptions are being carefully planned by teabaggers:
This growing phenomenon is often marked by violence and absurdity. Recently, right-wing demonstrators hung Rep. Frank Kratovil (D-MD) in effigy outside of his office. Missing from the reporting of these stories is the fact that much of these protests are coordinated by public relations firms and lobbyists who have a stake in opposing President Obama’s reforms.
The lobbyist-run groups Americans for Prosperity and FreedomWorks, which orchestrated the anti-Obama tea parties earlier this year, are now pursuing an aggressive strategy to create an image of mass public opposition to health care and clean energy reform. A leaked memo from Bob MacGuffie, a volunteer with the FreedomWorks website Tea Party Patriots, details how members should be infiltrating town halls and harassing Democratic members of Congress.
Some of the advice being dispensed to teabaggers:
– Artificially Inflate Your Numbers: “Spread out in the hall and try to be in the front half. The objective is to put the Rep on the defensive with your questions and follow-up. The Rep should be made to feel that a majority, and if not, a significant portion of at least the audience, opposes the socialist agenda of Washington.”
– Be Disruptive Early And Often: “You need to rock-the-boat early in the Rep’s presentation, Watch for an opportunity to yell out and challenge the Rep’s statements early.”
– Try To “Rattle Him,” Not Have An Intelligent Debate: “The goal is to rattle him, get him off his prepared script and agenda. If he says something outrageous, stand up and shout out and sit right back down. Look for these opportunities before he even takes questions.”
That's right: We wouldn't want an intelligent debate, would we? Because God knows what kind of horrible things might result if Americans were thoughtfully informed. Certainly the conservative agenda would not be realized.
Chris Good at The Atlantic reports that we can expect a long August with these kinds of events:
Over August recess, conservative activist groups will mount a renewed effort to kill the dreaded ObamaCare. August will be a melee of grassroots (or Astroturfed) activity on both sides: members of Congress will be home in their districts, holding town-halls, taking feedback from constituents--in other words, they'll be more open to pressure from activist campaigns than at any other time during the year.

I wonder if they'll choose brown for their shirt uniforms?
We seem to have the makings of our own little SS...
And some may be packing heat.
They waddle and sweat a lot too.
First, teabaggers have no idea what they support...ask 5 of them and you'll get 10 different answers.
Second, where did you get the idea that ACORN was "being paid Stimulus monies to go out and register Illegal Aliens in the democratic party?" Oh, that's correct...from your lord and master, Rush. You see, sunshine, he's wrong. Wrong. Dead wrong. Nothing in that entire screed you posted is anywhere near the truth.
But then, after analysing which words you chose to capitalize (Teabaggers, Illegal, Aliens, Stimulus) and which you didn't (democratic, party), it's apparent you are a lowly right-wing troll who thinks he's doing "the lawd's work" by posting on Progressive blogs.
Do us all a favour, sunshine...take a hike. And take your paranoid delusions with you when you go.
It is unforunate you have opted to simply buy into all the left talking points. Tea Party participates want the insane spending to stop, they understand you can not really spend yourself out of bankruptcy.
They want the President to keep ALL of his promises regarding health care reform. The current bills all break various promises, had the President bothered to actually read any of them, he would know that as well. Heck, just check AP's fact check on Obama's dud last press conference.
A moron would be defined as someone who supports a bill they have not read that actually does none of the things the left claims it does. If they happen to pass any of the current bills, no one will be happy - it does not give anyone free health care, and it does take away plenty of our rights.
You are ok with the government giving you a health care system that isn't good enough for them and theirs? Sorry I am not, if congress and the president refuse to have it for them and theirs, it isn't good enough for me and mine, or you and yours.
The Tea Partiers find it laughable that Obama has taken so many of the things you all hated about Bush and expanded them - and yet all of you remain quiet, or worse appauld.
I am certain you belittled CodePink, moveon, etc right? I mean you are belittling others for doing the exact same thing the left leaning organizations did - you are not a hypocrite are you? (8 ACORN protesters were arrested yesterday during a protest in CA)
And finally, those of the left would appear not so naive if they stopped defending ACORN. This is an organization that has numerous CONVICTIONS, that the founder's brother embezzled federal taxpayers monies (reported in the NYT June 2008). As simply an American you should not want any taxpayer monies to go to a documented, corrupt organization - that is not Rush saying it, it is a documented fact (you know, court records).
How do you expect to have any credibility demanding Madoff, Rove or anyone else be barred or tried when you say it is ok when ACORN does it, just not so and so? That brings us back to the hypocrite word.
Plenty of Americans, dems, republicans, indep have had it with government, their county and states are hitting them for more and giving less, the federal goverment is doing the same. I think it is moronic you are not equally upset given how Obama is governing like Bush, but on steroids. One would think you actually liked Bush.
Bush spent too much (and I voiced it at the time), OBama is spending WAY MORE. Two wrongs never made a right.
now give up your VA Benefits. It's Socialist and gov't run.
The ACORN propaganda that the Republiborg/Limbaugh Collective sent you to broadcast had been thoroughly debunked and disproven. Why don't you and your Teabagger dupes find yourself something more redemptive to do than to tear down what people of good will seek to build? Or is being a professional anarchist your new job now?
The koolaid must be good, ACORN's budget is basically federal and state funding, with some donations. They also have numerous convictions. Those are facts.
or lowly office and field workers, looking for a bonus? There IS a difference, and if you don't know what that difference is, watch out for Darwin.
Give us links and let's see how far up this scandalous behaviour goes.
Amazing you get all over ACORN (which has been around 30 years -- where the hell have you slackers been for the fist 29 and a half years of this nefarious community help oriented organisation's existence? Why weren't you protecting us then?) for some voter registration irregularities, but when members of the Republican party did the same in Vegas in 2004, and at many other times no outcry from you nutbags -- sorry -- teabaggers. No outcry over the criminal activities that permeated the Bush era.
What gives with your douchey selection of issues? Why not be outraged by Thugs doing the same?
Let me understand if I read you right, 2 wrongs make a right?
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/09/us/09embezz...
That's the NYT story about the brother - and executive at ACORN stealng a million bucks of taxpayers monies.
It doesn't even look as though you tried. Not that it surprises me.
You are obviously intellectually lazy, as evidenced by your parroting of crazy Drugbo/Hammity/beck sewage. Why is it every time people like you are informed of wrong doing on the part of people you support it looks like justification to you lot?
Show me where I said anything like that.
This question of yours makes it appear that you feel when one entity does it, it's horribly, never forgivably wrong, and when an entity you support does it you're all not even a "So?" It goes thoroughly unaddressed, and this kind of clumsy attempt at distracting me is in epic fail territory.
Let me explain it to you. One guy doing it is wrong. No matter which side. One guy doing it is not an indicator of the whole organisation.
My request of you was to be as outraged by wrong doing by people on 'your side.' I'll put it that way because that seems to be the only way you are able to grasp it, as if we are on different 'sides.' I'm equally outraged by both.
Also I wanted to know if ACORN is such a demon organisation, where were you douchebaggy types those 29 years you weren't trying to 'protect' [as in wreck the good works of a charitable organisation] 'your' [as in 'our'] taxes from the evil doers. No answer for those 2 questions, eh?
www.bradblog.com/?page_id=6500
Stop being such a dupe for right wing propaganda and find something more redemptive to do.
What a laugh. Like we should take anything they say at face value.
Come back when you actually get serious.
and a blonde, very urgent sounding newsreader! What cred!
Thanks for the laff timhillbillyjoebobfrank.
enjoy the clip. But here is the actual report from the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
http://republicans.oversight.house.gov/media/...
And do you have something against blond newscasters? Or just female blond newscasters? And how about the congressman on there? Does he have more "cred"
What's next, a beer hall putsch?
Nope
Punch Bowl Putsch.
Are the Democrats formulating an effective response to these morons? Their childish antics can be neutralized I am sure.
For one thing, I would invite the noisiest bum to come up the the stage and have his say. I'd bet a lot that he'd be booed out of the room.
Any persons deliberately disrupting a Town Meeting can be arrested. Remember Gates (and many others) was arrested for "Causing a Public Disturbance".
Dims fear it.
Pukes win, every time...
they seem to be an illusive species.
and oversized white tennis shoes with white socks pulled up to the knees.
It's pretty easy when you know what to look for.
and don't forget the crazy winger chicks in the red shirts. Sometimes they are seen carrying their United States birth certificate in a baggy............in case they need to show it to prove they aren't a Muslim socialist terrorist.
but how do you know... how do you know they're not domestic terrorists? oh wait, they are!
When do words become actions? - when they get transmitted to millions of people looking for direction and willing to take action.
Tea baggers are being used and they don't even have sense enough to realize it. They are fighting against their own well being.
You're right, POP. We all have the same concerns. These poor, paranoid, stupid people believe that their problems mirror the rich with bizarre racial components.
on their own dime to protest something that is in their own best interests, that is not dumber, it's flat out stupid.
-for Lobbyist' and other Repugs, as well as "real" Americans. Probably most are just bums looking to have fun creating a ruckus. And I gather they are most likely from Out of Town. Nothing wrong about checking ID when they enter a Town Hall meeting- I assume they are already checked for weapons.
I think they also should be checked for whose on the payroll, and those that are be slapped with heavy fines as unregistered lobbyists.
.
so true. this demographic is being used again. they become empowered by disliking liberals and being anti-gov. it makes me think about Palin's groupies.....they cry out about hating the government and social programs. when they're finished at their rallies some head home and collect section 8 housing, medicare and/or oil profit taxation revenue. ask a republican if they will take the money they paid into medicare vs. receiving the "social" benefit........i'll bet most will sheepishly take the benefit. president obama would prefer not to intervene on the health care issue BUT the "free market"/capitalism will not
resolve the problem. look at the automakers. the government had to do something because the "free market" did not give a shxt. these people are foolish and they won't listen they will just yell like on the o'really show.
I have an aunt that as far as I know she never had a job other then mother and wife. My uncle retired from the navy so he and my aunt have had health care their entire lives. but they cannot stand the thought of someone else being paid. It is like there is a disconnect in which what is good for them is not good for you. Or maybe for some unknown reason they are better then others?
He spent 20 or more years in the navy, I feel like he deserves health care, he earned it. But when you think about it we have all earned it in one way or another. Every person has a right to health care. How can a necessity of life be turned into a privlige?
republicanism is a mental illness!
Perhaps because it is part of the retirement package? You are more than welcome to find a job that has health care as a benefit after retirement. There are some out there including the military. And do you know what the co-pay is for tricare? For the no-cost version, 20-25% for most things, inpatient 250 a day or 20% whichever is less plus 20% for separately billed professional services. Great insurance. Want it? Join the military for 20 years.
And everyone has a right to health care? Sure and you get what you pay for. Just like the right to interstate travel(an actual right) if you can only afford to walk, that's what you get, if you can afford a private jet or a ferrari go for it. Should the Gov issue everyone a private jet? Or make everyone fly coach or walk.
Or how about the right to keep and bear arms. All some can afford is a hi-point, others a customized colt gold cup or python. Do you think the Gov should issue me a m-16 because I have the right to own one?
Freedom of speech same, soapbox on the corner or a nationwide broadcasting company.
Sad but true patricia.
See how fast this strategy goes bye-bye when the wingnut thugs start getting their asses handed to them.
They should just combine the names
Has a ring, no?
Sounds better than "Teabirthers" that's for sure!:-)
birthbaggers sounds like something that contains amniotic fluid........just sayin. Unless you mean people like that crazy wingnut who was carrying her bc around in a ziploc baggy.
I mean, are we saying that there's a term that sounds TOO crazy and weird for these people?
No chance.
. . .
I wonder what the news will be talking about tonight,
Michael Jackson's stomach contents?
Excellent name for the kooky bunch.
Thanks!
There is only one effective way to deal with these kinds of tactics: Laughing ridicule that names their game, that pokes holes in their self-importance and points to the absurdity of their position. It works best if other people in the crowd do it. And, when the brown shirts respond with violence, they get subdued by the citizens. They are always going to be out-numbered by the citizens. the brown shirt's do what they do to manipulate the people in the crowd or to manipulate those watching the news. It back fires if the crowd turns against them and spoils the theater of it all for the
newspropaganda-viewing audience. Here is the video I shot in NYC this past Tuesday where F.A.I.R. delivered 12,500 petitions to ABC.
This was done because ABC disinvited Dr. David Scheiner, Obama's personal physician, from their "Town Hall Forum on Health Care: Prescription for America". This is 20 minutes of solid information on the current situation....and I guarantee you...NO BROWN-SHIRTED TEA-BIRTHERS WERE THERE....
Well, maybe except for the lady in the moo-moo standing behind the ABC "Security Guard" who accepted the petitions:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2BSvfyoI9Y
'divide and conquer' philosophy. We're (Americans)being torn apart more and more every day, in every way, by the introduction of divisive issues that are not being reconciled by our so-called 'democratically- elected' representatives - at all levels of government:
Dems vs. Repugs; North vs. South; White vs. Black/Hispanic; Christian evagelicals vs. non-believers; men vs. women; police vs. civilians; rich vs. have-nots; urbanites vs. rural; greens vs. userers; pro universal healthcare vs. the 'just go and die crowd'; etc. etc. etc.
All of these divisions are being encouraged by the Powers that Be - the corpora-fascists who own our government. I think that the resolution of this health care crisis is very, very important is establishing our national direction for the coming decades - whether we survive as a nation united, or devolve into who-knows-what.
This also goes along with an earlier thread of people voting against their own interests, but such arguments are called "Marxist."
I wonder if they're on someone's payroll? This also sounds reminiscent of those "spontaneous demonstrations" to disrupt the voting recount in 2000 presidential selection.
More of the same manufactured BS funded by wealthy interests. (I bet)
Boy Scouts?
As these people get off the buses, and approach the meeting, check for Medicare, Medicaid or Military health care recipiant’s. Also, find out if they are getting Social Security payments. If they are, tell them to STFU, get back on the bus, and go home, since they are already “SOCIALIZED” and have no say in the matter.
I think that will eliminate a significant number of these stupid **********er’s.
public works/infrastructure employee.
Also, if anybody has a close relative that's on Pell Grants, they gotta go, too.
if they used a public road to reach the meeting.
soft drinks at the saame level as they tax liquor and cigarettes.
What has obesity got to do with Repugs disrupting Town Halls?
I doubt very much any obese person likes being that way. Take a look at our Billion-Dollar "Weight Loss" industry, one that doesn't work, and you may get an idea of how hard loosing weight is.
No need to blame fat people for our Country's problems. The blame is on our elected Representatives who haven't represented Us.
.
.
.
Instead of stating the obvious about these jerks, we need to do something positiive, if/when possible.
Anyone living in a district with a "shaky Dem" Representative, or near one, should organize a group to attend any town-halls, willing to add some counter-voices. Not to seek open confrontation, but to
buttress those who come to these meetings for the right reasons.
And don't shy away from spreading the news about this right-wing/insurance company strategy....
even a preemptive Letter To The Editor warning this plot is afoot might help.
Bottom line: We need to get off the keyboard and on our feet.
Instead of stating the obvious about these jerks, we need to do something positive, if/when possible.
We are better than them - we have to stay that way.
How do you know I'm not typing with my feet?
The same advice would apply, I think.
I agree, Dnegri -- if a Teabagger/Birther gets up and yells something and sits back down, those around him or her should photograph the person and then someone should get to the microphone and say loudly and clearly, "On behalf of reasonable people, I apologize for the right-wing agitator here..." Or something like that.
And yes, preemptive letters to editors and e-mail to news departments of all your local TV stations would be great.
We need to make sure the public knows exactly what these disruptive morons are---paranoid, self centered anarchists obsessed with their perceived victimhood.
We need to respond with the truth, which over time will prevail.
Was it Twain who said "lies circle the globe before truth ever leaves town."
Don't be negative -- we have to work at it! We have made progress. I know it's slow and frustrating, but we just have to keep chipping away...
I am merely reporting on my lengthy experience with people, the press, and the State.
Truth NEVER triumphs in the modern state. It couldn't stand the pressure to repeat the experience, because the modern state depends on propaganda with which to communicate with its people. The Soviets knew this. We could take lessons...
when people stick up for it. What do think KOS and C&L and other blogs are all about?
You yourself can attend a Town Hall and "Boo" any disruptors.
And how many read these sites comparable to those who only watch infotainment?
Of course when their pet issues snap in their face, and they learned we knew better earlier, they accuse us of not speaking up earlier, a'la the Iraq War build-up.
Don't be. Nelson Mandela struggled for 67 years against a racist and oppressive government to win equity and justice for his people. We all hope for short term gains but sometimes, it does not happen. Like it or not, we must be in this for the long haul---and never give up.
take a look at the economic demographics of South Africa and get bvack to me on this one, please...
GB Shaw said The power of careful observation is often called "cynicism" by those who haven't got it...
The process of justice and equity IS a process, not a destination. Injustice cannot be wiped away in a fortnight and the process Mandela advocated still goes on, imperfect though it is.
Mandela is not a magician that promised to rid South Africa of all evil and establish perfect equity, he just did his part in the process, a process that will go on for generations.
Call or justify your cynicism under any name or excuse you will, it along with apathy is the poison of hope and progress. Healthy skepticism is fine, but not intractible cynicism.
the best thing about a peace process is that one need never have peace as long as one has a process.
the same is true of all social "processes": all they mean is that the goal is indefinitely deferred...
G'wan now, I hear the Kool-Aid truck...
Your attitude creates your reality, and cynicism eventually becomes a self fulfilling prophecy when you inevitably fall short.
No human system or process is perfect because perfection is not a human attribute.
Good luck to you with your cynicism, personally, I'll try a more redemptive approach that might net actual results in time.
so few kept so many so stupid for so long?
it's easy.
agree w/stmts above that it's a perversion of democratic process (monied, power interests using grassroots tactics, as in corruption of initiative, recall, etc). looks like we're in for the oft-cited bumpy ride. btw: agree w/kate and dnegri, offsetting comments calling back rational speech would be a double-wammy.
---these disruptions will be used by repugs in the midterms, i guess.
.
Sore LosersTeabaggers want to distrupt --The Thuglicans already let it slip out the Health care is Pres.Obama's
Waterloo and it needs to fail at all cost.
It is crazy that they are willing to cut off their nose to spite their face.
Now if the shoe was on the other foot and Dem's were pulling this crap it would be all over the news.
I think on the ground level a lot of these people really believe in the SOCIALISM! meme... I have no doubt that that's what's driving them.
Their organizers, however... and the people commanding the organizers way up on the top of the GOP food-chain... have way WAY different motivations driving them.
A healthy, vibrant form of government provided healthcare for all... and the natural evolution of that (universal healthcare), is something that they will go to no end to prevent... because once it exists, they are for all intents and purposes an extinct political party.
is about to be changed. The basic resources will still exist: hospitals, doctors, insurance companies, etc., but the people who most benefit from the status quo are about to benefit a little less. This has them mobilized.
We should take a page from their playbook--not the shutting down discussion and intimidation factor. Some of this crosses the line, but mostly it's free speech.
I wish there were some sort of progressive version of teabaggers. I would like to know how to join up with people around me who want to go lobby, picket folks blocking a public option, help to organize, and attend forums about the public option.
The only answer to obnoxious free speech is more and better speech. There are many more of us than there are of them.
We could call ourselves Tea"baller's."
Instead of wasting resources and killing trees for bags, we use little metal teaballs that are reusable. It'll fit our environmental profile nicely, plus, it would annoy the living $#!* out of these 'morans.'
Ok, I'm gullible, but what do you mean?
Is the metal strainer you use to brew loose leaf tea.
I love it. From now on I'm calling myself a teaballer.
I prefer to be a toeballer
As in a swift kick to the....
Happened to be on Facebook last night, and I got one of those "Join This Group" notifications out to the side of the page. It was a Teabagger/Hate-the-Government/"Stop Taking My Taxes for Brown and Poor People" event--to which numerous people in my high school graduating class had subscribed.
I thought: 1) Man, how dumb a group of people did I grow up with? and 2) Why aren't there any groups that I'd be happy to belong to.
Let's get something going.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7eTOnNBwYU
I'm with you. How do we get groups like this going?
Just organized an event through Obama's Organizing for America thing. Ok, that's good, but this outfit is really top-down. It just won't catch on much, I fear.
I like what you're talking about.
I love the advice they give, lie, be rude, be stupid. It pretty much sums up conservative repugnacans.
Iam really just stunned by their blatant admissions to attend these fundamental Democratic processes that as Americans most of have attended one, at one time or another, & is as old as well you know. To attend with the Intent to disrupt, Subvert or derail this process Wouldnt you think it is illegal. I mean think about it to promulgate that this is what you are going to do & Repub are involved This is Bad! should be a punishable offenses, 1. For being so fucking stupid to let someone use you like this. 2. To state you intend to steal, thwart, distort, rape one of our revered & trusted Demorcratic process. for #1 & you get caught at the meeting, immediate Ass whipping. For #2 I dont know, you are stealing my opportunity my small window of time to hear intelligent discourse & debate concerning issues that matter to me, Well it just pisses me off. This is really bad
at their gatherings by carefully vetting everybody expected to attend.
Remember the folks with Buck Fush t-shirts being excluded from audiences for Bush and Cheney?
Obama will be drawn to that expedient, eventually, or see his whole charade become the forum for his antagonists...
it certainly is turning out to be Woody. Still people blame Congress, Afghans, Iraqis, Pakistanis, Iranians, and the martians for all that is happening and omit Obama for everything. Know why? I do. He's black. Shhhhh. Don't tell anyone. They are all already scared to mention it for fear of racism hollers. It is the only reason Obama is getting so many free passes.
had it's feet held to the fire? oh, wait... that's what HE did..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXnUZBD_qV4
...and this won't happen.
If Democrats/Progressives demand it as a condition of going on the show, there won't be a problem.
the health care bills that are being considered in the House/Senate?
I'm really curious about what the provisions really are --- I've read somewhere that the bill is over 1,100 pages. That can't be good, because most of the people voting on it will have no idea what it really contains -- kinda reminds me of the Patriot Act.
"kinda reminds me of the Patriot Act."
Without the anthrax attacks (Bush kept who safe after 9/11)
And if it was like the patriot act - they would have aleady voted on it.
the "Patriot Act."
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d111:...
Much of it is extremely confusingly procedural, dealing with exceptions to this and that ... I'm a good reader but wading though it was beyond me ... I'll keep trying, but jeez!
I think C&L should post a short list of these related sites with each article, as the BBC online does.
agrees with you.
http://cnsnews.com/public/content/article.asp...
“What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?”
You do realize that John Conyers said that primarily to draw a distinction between this bill and his own which would implement a single-payer system and is only 32 pages long. He is correct, and I wish his bill would get an honest debate, but I wish he was a little more diplomatic.
The bills (five or six of them at last count) being considered now are full of confusing elements added by those who oppose any reform and further complicated by the need to work around our current, equally confusing health-care system. Using the resulting complexity as an argument against them means letting the bastards win.
.
If there was a fire in one of these town halls during the meeting, tell the baggers that they can only be rescued by their own private fire fighting brigade...the rest of us will be saved by the socialist government fire department.
My, so many of you left leaning posters sure have done your party proud. You articulated exactly what tolerance and inclusive really means. I even saw a couple sexist remarks thrown in for good measure, bravo!
[Thanks for flagging. We saw it. It stays-Sitemonitor]
You sorry, bitter losers were in power for over a decade, having all the time in the world to succeed. In a national and Democratic election the nation told you failures to fuck off, yet after half a year you sick bastards have crawled out of the woodwork claiming that your proven failed bullshit is what the Country needs. Fucking hilarious!
Your limp-dick attempts to focus on people calling you "bad names" to avoid the very merit of their arguments is equally pathetic. Listen troll, reciting O'Reilly/Beck/Hannity's bullshit will only provide comic relief here.
You destructive racist bastards lost! GFY's until 2012 when we're ready to dick kick you sorry assholes again.
I agree with what you're saying, L&L, but dontcha wish there were more formatting options to express your feeling that you'd like to tie a person to a chair and just slap them for a while? Alas, we have only bold and italic...
(:>)
I'm tempted to extend these folks a courtesy and remind them that the 2008 Presidential election has been over since last November.
These very angry people are just dying every day because "Liberal America" elected a negro President.
Yeah, like, "The election is over now, and all good Americans should be working on ways to help each other..."
I mean today.
I thought you were mean everyday.
the syntax and punctuation errors...
Because right wing dopes like you don't and you really need to learn what it is. You won't find it on Fox Ooze or Rush Limbaugh, either.
And if you can't take the heat here, get the hell out.
Try the World Book.
Who believes them?
Here is a gem of a line from your text describing how PR firms have been hired "to create an image of mass public opposition to health care and clean energy reform." Who in American believes them. It's like when I heard Bay Buchanan say on CNN "90% of Americans" like their health care. When I heard her say that, I was like what? And, of course, no one on the show even questioned that statement or asked why she got such bogus
information. But, then again, who believes that crap?
While I have no faith in Obama, Reid or Pelosi and believe the health care bills being proposed are total shams and will do nothing except maybe insure a few more people, enabling insurers to make even more money, I also believe that the American People need to radically change the political power in this country away from the rich and the corporations, and the best (and only way) is to take back the wealth and strip corporations of all political power. They can't vote so they shouldn't be allowed to lobby. I don't know why I never thought of it before but that is exactly why corps. should not be allowed to lobby.
what the teabaggers are protesting are actually Bush screwups?
A Conservative's Prayer
by Larry S. Rolirad
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I bless Rush Limbaugh my soul to keep,
If I should die before I wake,
I'll rejoice in what a CEO will make.
Hello,
My brother was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a hard worker who worked 12 hours a day to support his little 8 year old son. But he couldn't afford health insurance. And for the 'crime' of being poor, my brother was sentenced to death because he could not get the care he needed when he needed it the most.
My brother's fate was determined when conservatives without souls sold out to the insurance industry in 1993, when they blocked all health care reform. These same evil people are trying to do the same thing today and if they defeat health care reform again, they will kill 45,000 people who die every year because they can't get the health care they need.
My brother's little 8 year old son lost a wonderful father, but conservatives do not care. They only care about insurance company profits and CEO bonuses.
I urge anyone reading this to support a public option so that we can reign in the evil powers of corrupt and soulless insurance companies. No person who has a soul can continue to support such an evil, corrupt system where people are dying every minute so that a few can make billions.
Please remember my brother and pass a PUBLIC OPTION that will FORCE the insurance industry to behave honestly, if that is even possible.
I wrote the pledge below for conservatives who are against any and all reforms to the current health care system. The pledge would never be taken by any conservative, because they would never risk the lives of their loved ones by refusing government funded health care.
All the best to everyone and please help to do something to stop the killing of 45,000 people who are dying each year who are just like my brother.
Thank you...

A HEALTH CARE PLEDGE FOR CONSERVATIVES
AS A CONSERVATIVE WHO DOES NOT HAVE INSURANCE:
I, ___________, as a conservative who DOES NOT have health care insurance, do hereby refuse all health care paid for by the government. I pledge if I become sick, or a member of my family becomes sick, that I will refuse to be treated by any doctor, hospital or emergency personnel if the cost for these services will in any way be subsidized by a state or federal government.
I, ___________, as a conservative who DOES NOT have insurance, do hereby pledge to wait one year from the time of my first symptoms until I go to the emergency room of a government funded county hospital because I believe the 45,000 people who die every year because of access to health care deserve to die, because they are really deadbeats who could afford health insurance if they wanted it.
I, ___________, as a conservative who DOES NOT have insurance, do hereby pledge to never accept any medical technologies, innovations, treatments or medications that were paid for, subsidized or developed using government funds because I believe them to be 'socialistic' and therefor evil. I know capitalistic 'for profit' companies will always act in the best interests of human beings, and never attempt to profit off of a person who is sick or dying.
I, ___________, as a conservative who DOES NOT have insurance, do hereby pledge that if I am too sick to go to the hospital I will not call a government sponsored '911' program, because I believe such emergency services to be 'socialistic' and therefore 'evil. I furthermore pledge to just sit in my house and die along with the other 45,000 people who die each year due to lack of access to health care if I cannot afford life-saving medical treatment.
AS A CONSERVATIVE WHO DOES HAVE INSURANCE:
I, ___________, a conservative who HAS health care insurance, do hereby pledge to never disagree if my insurance company refuses to pay a valid claim, for I know they would never do anything to hurt another human being for money.
I, ___________, a conservative who HAS health care insurance, do hereby pledge to remain subservient to my insurance company and will never disagree if they refuse to pay for a valid claim by stating that it is related to a 'pre-existing condition', even if the condition has nothing to do with my current illness.
I, ___________, a conservative who HAS health care insurance, do hereby pledge to always agree with my insurance company even if they use some obscure loophole intentionally inserted into my policy to deceive me and to prevent me from getting the health care I need to remain alive.
I, ___________, a conservative who HAS health care insurance, do hereby pledge that I will not accept medical treatment until such treatment is first approved by an insurance representative, even if I know that the representative is rewarded financially for denying valid services to me or my family. I will readily and eagerly accept the decisions of the thousands of current 'death panels' used by insurance companies so they can make even bigger profits off of those they victimize.
I, ___________, a conservative who HAS health care insurance and believes in tort reform, hereby pledges to never hold an insurance company liable or to seek justice in a court of law, even if their acts are criminal, deceptive or if their dishonest acts lead to the death of one of my family members.
I, ___________, a conservative who HAS health care insurance, do hereby pledge to not accept medical treatment even if I need life saving emergency treatment if those treatments are not first approved by an insurance bureaucrat. I refuse to admit that insurance companies are already using 'death panels' to kill people for profit.
FINALLY, as a CONSERVATIVE:
I, ___________, as a conservative who believes everyone should be independent and that no one ever falls on hard times in their lives, do hereby pledge that if I break any of the pledges above and receive any medical care for me or my family that I will agree to sell my house, use my retirement, sell my automobiles, cash in my children's college funds and use all of my assets to pay every dime of what I owe, even if my family and I are left destitute and homeless. I further pledge to repay every dime I make working at a burger joint or as a greeter at Walmart to first repay my medical bills before buying food or housing for my family. I further pledge to pay any interest rate on any balances due, because I believe corporations and banks should be allowed to charge anything they want, even interest rates of 30, 40 and 50%, rates even the Mafia never charged. I believe in unbridled capitalism and that companies should be allowed to do whatever they want, for I consider capitalism to be my 'god' and CEOs its disciples. I hereby further pledge to praise CEO salaries and bonuses even though I know that for every dollar they make is a dollar that doesn't go to help the sick or dying. And because I was against all minimum wage increases in the past 40 years I further pledge to accept only $1.45 an hour for working at McDonalds or as a Walmart greeter, since it was the minimum wage in February 1970.
I, ___________, as a conservative, hereby pledge to have my parents, or other loved ones, refuse all health care they are currently receiving from any government program, such as Medicare or Medicaid, and I further pledge to pay for all my parent's health bills. And I will further pledge to have my parents move in with me and give them 24 hour care instead of using any government subsidized nursing care or hospice care services, since I know such services are evil since they are 'socialistic' and therefore evil.
I, ___________, as a conservative do hereby pledge I will continue my condemnations of the poor in the Charles Dickens story, "A Christmas Carol", because I know Bob Cratchit's family were lazy deadbeats who could pay for their own health care and gotten help for their son, Tiny Tim, if they wanted to. I believe Tiny Tim should be prevented from getting health care and die, because he is poor.
I, _________, as a conservative believe in individual rights for CEOs and business owners like Ebenezer Scrooge, but not for individual rights to life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness for those who are poor, downtrodden or oppressed. Also, because I believe the poor in the Bible were deadbeats, I will continue to condemn Jesus because he was an evil socialist because he healed the sick for free, he fed the hungry for free and he lifted the spirits of the downtrodden for free. I also condemn the Good Samaritan for not charging to help that poor, beaten man who was left for dead on the side of a lonely road. I believe that the priest and the temple assistant who first found the beaten man and left him for dead without helping him did the right thing and that the Good Samaritan was an evil socialist, because not only did the Good Samaritan help the beaten man, he even gave him money so he could feed and cloth himself.
I, _________, as a conservative further condemn Jesus for always attacking the rich and praising the poor, because I know CEOs and the wealthy are the true sons of god because, after all, look at how much god has rewarded them. I believe those on Wall Street deserve to make as much money as possible by using schemes and scams, like the guy who made 3 billion in 2008 alone. As a conservative I believe it is right that a person who makes 3 billion behind a computer producing nothing for his fellow man or society. I believe that Wall Street should be paid 86,000 times more than hard working teachers, firefighters, police officers and nurses, all of whom actually contribute to society and help their fellow man.
I, _________, as a conservative who always trusts the government to start wars, trusts government to bomb people, trusts government to spy on people, trusts government to incarcerate people without charges, trusts government to torture people, trusts government to arrest people without warrants and trusts government to use secret wiretaps on people, do hereby pledge to continue to distrust government to help heal sick and dying Americans. I fear government intrusion into my life, but I cheer on corporate intrusions on my privacy, my livelihood, and my life. I fear any government attempt to heal people, yet trust government to kill, maim, torture, arrest, incarcerate and execute people.
I, ________, as a conservative, make these pledges in the name of the 'god of unbridled, unregulated capitalism' and in the names of its disciples, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck. Amen and amen.
