Power Line advises Obama to be just like Bush when he speaks publicly
By John Amato Tuesday Nov 11, 2008 11:01amWow, the right wing bloggers are really cracking up over Obama's victory. You don't believe me? Check this post out by John Hinderaker. I know he adores President Bush and thinks he's a genius and all, but this is a remarkable post.
The Importance of Being Careful
Obama thinks he is a good talker, but he is often undisciplined when he speaks. He needs to understand that as President, his words will be scrutinized and will have impact whether he intends it or not. In this regard, President Bush is an excellent model; Obama should take a lesson from his example. Bush never gets sloppy when he is speaking publicly.
He chooses his words with care and precision, which is why his style sometimes seems halting. In the eight years he has been President, it is remarkable how few gaffes or verbal blunders he has committed. If Obama doesn't raise his standards, he will exceed Bush's total before he is inaugurated.
Hinderaker actually believes this. It's weird because most Conservatives do believe that Obama's communication skills served him quite well during the election process. I guess he also missed this latest polling data that says Bush is leaving office more unpopular than Richard Nixon.
And they wonder why America has turned their backs on Conservatism.

Bush is Nixon WITHOUT the competence.
What I say is:
Bush should leave the White House in handcuffs.
Nixon was a crook, but he did give the US the Clean Water and Clean Air Acts, the EPA, arms control agreements with the Soviets, diplomatic relations with Red China, etc. By today's standards, Nixon was a mainstream Democrat.
Bush is a tool of the faction Nixon regarded as fringe fanatics.
but you left out OSHA and Worker's Comp
...over Bush any - f**kin' day.
You've gotta be kidding me! Obama act like Bush? Bush never spoke sloppy in public? Is this guy nuts. Probably. Like all wing-nuts, the truth is never an option.
HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH BREATHE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

HAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHHAAHAAHHA
You guys took the words right out of my mouth :D
I WISH I'D SAID THAT...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
I'm still laughing about this.
This is just denial in its most absurd form. They are threatening from a position of weakness because they haven't accepted the fact that the Right has been repudiated by the electorate. The sad thing is that the Democrats under Reid and Pelosi have bought into the Right Wing framework. We need new leadership that knows how to exercise power, so that idiots like Hinderaker look as foolish as they truly are.
I sincerely hope that Obama recognizes that the Democratic leadership is actually weak enough that they might listen to such nonsense. I suspect he does. I look forward to new leadership among the Democratic party as much as I look forward to a new president. I want people who know how to exercise power and demonstrate leadership, not this spineless compromise-at-any-cost go-along-to-get-along philosophy.
What satire! Comedy gold!
Please refer to subject line.
It's hard to speak proper english when your busy "tring to put food on your family," and making sure "our children's is learnin."
Isn't Tring one of the names of sarah's kids?
{ Deleted, You're done. SiteMonitor}
Maybe Power Line is trying to get into satire, to stave off the impending irrelevance.
Every year, for the past 7 years, I've purchased the latest "Bushism a day" calendar for my father in law.
Personal favorite:
"You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test."
Somehow, I have a feeling we won't be seeing 365 moronic statements per annum from President Obama.
I liked the one about terrorists lurching in the shadows, and the one about terrorists killing people at the whim of a hat.
"Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB/GYN's aren't able to practice their love with women all across the country."
I remember the first time hearing it, and I had to look away from the teevee because it was too embarrassing.
Was that whilst you were in the gynecologist's office?
I love the Bushism:
'Seldom is the question asked-
IS our children learning'?
IS our children learning'? Do we learn that at Yale or Hardvard? I'm glad I didn't attend either one.
Foreign Leaders spoke better english then Bush. Bush made up words and looked/acted like the idiot he is. He did admit in 2001 when he spoke at Princeton U. that he was drunk for 4 years in college and he got his degree because his Father gave a building to the college. That's on video tape for those who don't believe. Most of the time during Bush's Press Conferences he was drunk and even during visits overseas. Try reading the Foreign Press who covered it.
Obama is an educated well spokeen man and the GOP will have to get use to it. Yes Bill Clinton and other Presidents were well educated as they explain their policy to the World as GW used the only thing he knows the uneducated talk that he was allowed to do because his Daddy is rich.
The fact this guy honestly believes Bush was a great orator is quite sad.
Bush is an awesome speaker.
"I stand by all the misstatements that I've made." - George W. Bush
Sure. Toddlers laugh at him.
Only 2 more months of comedy left. Thank god for youtube
Toddlers love laughing at cartoon characters and idiots :-D
like those who think he is an awesome speaker
method of republican wingnuttery. state the exact opposite of reality.
it's amazing they've gotten this far.
CAPITAL: DUHBYA TEE EFF ?!?!?!?!?
Keep thinking like that, Raker of Hinders, cause we love winning elections.
This reminds me of a story by John K Galbraith. He was in charge of Nazi war prisoners at the end of WWII and an english friend asked to meet one of the higher up Nazis. The englishman came out of the meeting in tears. When JKG asked his trouble the englishman replied " I can't believe we fought a war against jerks like this.
History repeats itself............
If this is what we are working against, then why do we even bother to show up?
It is NOT about sense of HUMOR. While the audiences laughs, the last laugh is on AMERICA. For BUSH has made a laughing stock out of AMERICANS.
BUSH is a reflection of US (most of us, I should say) to the WORLD.
It's time to show the WORLD that we have EQUALLY just as much INTELLIGENT PEOPLE as we do IDIOTS. It's time to bring them down and restore our GOOD reputation to the WORLD.
Never again, should we allow IDIOTS like this lead our nation and the world to dispare. MONEY may be able to buy YOU a diploma from HARVARD or YALE or any ivy league college (or cheating your way into getting a passing grade in school); BUT it CAN NOT deliver the INTELLIGENCE and LEADERSHIP that is needed to RUN OUR NATION successfully. HOW one applies that capacity will sooner or later surface. Just as this ONE (BUSH) has done.
This was funny like an inebriated pilot, flying you nonstop from L.A. to New York.
... if for no other reason than to give David Letterman more material for his 'Great Moments in Presidential Speeches' segments.
I will miss those laughs.
This is exactly what I was thinking. Do these idiots EVER watch Letterman?
Obviously not.
All Bush ever does is LIE when he speaks to the public! I hope Obama does not follow suit.
The endless lies and bullshit from these people have become numbing. I choose to believe nothing the Repukes say and if later it turns out to be truthful, cool.
...... and if later it turns out to be truthful, then they obviously meant to say something else.
There, fixed it for ya.
Anyone who thinks that anybody, let alone President Obama (that feels so cool to say), who is an inspiring speaker, could "take a lesson" from Bush as a speaker is either seperated from any sense of reality or is writing in bad faith, or lying if you prefer. Either way, who the fuck cares what such a person would think?
Prezident Bush is the greatest speeker I ever heared. Powerline is so right.
I will read them more oftenly for sure. You betcha.
If this idiot thinks Bush was any kind of an example ro follow, he needs to lose his job. He clearly shows he has no knowledge of the English language.
we attacked "er-RACK", not "ee-ROCK".
we were worried about Iraq's "noo-kyu-lur" capabilities, not their "new-clee-ar" capabilities.
we deposed "SAW-dum" Hussein, not "suh-DAWM" Hussein.
since then, we've established bases in "PAK-ih-stan" and "af-GAN-ih-stan", not "POK-ee-stahn" and "af-GAN-ee-stahn".
all of this was in the name of defending 'mericans, not Americans, against "ter-uh-zum", not terrorism.
Eye-rack, eye-ran
It's yerahk and yerahn http://inogolo.com/pronunciation/Iraq
soft, almost imperceptible 'y' at the beginning. It's how my Arabic and Farsi speaking pals say those names.
People who have continued to support George W. Bush during his disastrous tenure have always been out of touch with reality. Here's hoping Obama's success truly sends them over the edge.
We can have them all carted off on Gone InSane's Straight Jacket Express, and they can finally stop ruining the world for the rest of its inhabitants.
The shrub is a genius. Let's see, he managed to loot the country, commit various war crimes, get habeas corpus repelled, spy on Americans, made rendition legal, shred the Constitution and assorted other crimes and he gets to GET AWAY with it all because the dems are a bunch of spineless, worthless whores.
Also, how is the election of a conservative the repudiation of conservatism?
Other than that, yes, shrub is a lousy speaker.
To those who would tear the world down - we will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security - we support you. See I can neocon too.
what a moron....only word comes to my mind is "retard!!!"
meant for John Hinderaker
It's not over yet until he's out the door. The genius is in the detail and THAT will be the rope that will hang him and his cohort.
No one can get away with CRIME. Once committed you live with it for the rest of your life. No crime is left unpaid. unless you repent you will never be free
Or poppy Bushies friends clean it up for you. Daddy make everything bad go away.
"it is remarkable how few gaffes or verbal blunders he has committed..." Dude... what ARE you smoking...? There are multiple web pages devoted to NOTHING but Bush's mangled syntax... His "awesome" communication skills are a staple of laughs on SNL, The Tonight Show and Letterman, just to name a few...
I know these jerkwads are out of touch with reality... but geez...
should practice her love with her OBGYN
Cummings must be spinning in his grave right now. Lest anyone forget, his reaction to the news of Warren G. Harding's death is as follows:
"The only man, woman or child who wrote a simple declarative sentence with seven grammatical errors is dead."
I would love to hear what he would have to say about Bush.
“And so, in my State of the — my State of the Union — or state — my speech to the nation, whatever you want to call it, speech to the nation — I asked Americans to give 4,000 years — 4,000 hours over the next — the rest of your life — of service to America.”
~ George W. Bush, Bridgeport, CT, 2002-09-04
“That makes sense to me, don’t it?”
~ George W. Bush, 2006-06-06
Why should Obama try to speak like someone who cannot speak a complete coherent sentence?
"It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it." - George W. Bush
...Is that some kind of newfangled asswiper?
I really found this funny, there are websites that are dedicated to how Bush talks. My favorite Bushism is:
"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once — shame on — shame on you. You fool me, you can't get fooled again."
"The vast majority of our imports come from outside the country." - George W. Bush
That's a great one!
I just put some water through my nose when I read that one.
To speak like Bush, Obama would need to become an alchoholic with a nose for cocaine.
Where has that man been for the past eight years?
Republicans understand the importance of bondage between mother and child. It's life of children living in, you know, the dark dungeons of the Internet. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country. But it isn't pollution that's harming the environment, it's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it. We are ready for any unforeseen event that may or may not occur. Ticket counters and airplanes will fly out of Ronald Reagan Airport. The war on terror involves Saddam Hussein because of the nature of Saddam Hussein, the history of Saddam Hussein, and his willingness to terrorize himself. We need to counter the shockwave of the evildoer by having individual rate cuts accelerated and by thinking about tax rebates. The really rich people figure out how to dodge taxes anyway. My plan reduces the national debt, and fast. So fast, in fact, that economists worry that we're going to run out of debt to retire. See, free nations are peaceful nations. Free nations don't attack each other. Free nations don't develop weapons of mass destruction. I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace. If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator. This foreign policy stuff is a little frustrating. I'm also not very analytical. You know I don't spend a lot of time thinking about myself, about why I do things. I'm the master of low expectations. People say, how can I help on this war against terror? How can I fight evil? You can do so by mentoring a child; by going into a shut-in's house and say I love you. Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.
Yeah. Right.
Maybe the only words of Bush's Obama needs to remember is the immortal, 'fool me once, shame on—shame on you. Fool me—you can't get fooled again.'
What planet is this?
It's just that the pod people are getting a little confused.
"Rarely is the question asked: is our children learning?"
"You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test."
"You're working hard to put food on your family."
"As yesterday's positive report card shows, childrens do learn when standards are high and results are measured."
"More Muslims have died at the hands of killers than—I say more Muslims—a lot of Muslims have died—I don't know the exact count—at Istanbul. Look at these different places around the world where there's been tremendous death and destruction because killers kill."
"It's in our country's interests to find those who would do harm to us and get them out of harm's way."
"It is better to have lost and .. er to have loved and lost than to have lost.. to have loved never before to have er .. lost."
"nucular"
Yea, he was a FREAKIN genius!
That blogger has to be kidding right?
Is that person so wrapped up in denial and refusal to even suggest Governor Bush is a good orator?
My 2 year-old daughter can make her point better than the lame-duck-in-chief.
Funny how the conservative right wants a Black man to do things their way. It's a by-product of Southern Colonialism that seems so dated, yet people attempt this in their business lives and other places. I was at a Knicks game and I heard a fan yell something borderline racist to a player, really makes you think how some people's culture hasn't progressed at all. No worries though, the conservative right's influence on American government will be outmoded January 19, 2009.
I don't know but it sounds to me more delusional then is possible under just normal delusion. I believe hard drugs and cheap alcohol must be a factor with this Hinderaker character. OT but wasn't there a Hinderaker who was fairly high up in the SS or the Nazi Party?
The GOP is evidently literally challenged; no wonder no one is interested in Bush's memoirs. They apparently not only worship the speaking style of Bush; but, also Sarah Palin's.
That speaks volumes about the Hillbilly (their own Palin GOP words) mentality.
The thing is the daily "Spaghetti Tactic" of throwing something hateful and seeing what sticks; is only working against them. Let them bury their neocon small c christian self.
What they say, what they fling is falling on deaf ears. The American public has seen through their lies, distortions and hate.
or do the Cons remind you of "Baghdad Bob?"
Praise BOB!!!
Maybe he took Letterman's Great Moments in Presidential Speeches as a compliment to Bush.
One thing we have to do is to get rid of the voting machines or we are destined to get someone else that is equally ignorant as head of state.
I was watching Obama's first press conference and it was annoying the hell out of me the amount of stuttering uh’s and um’s I was hearing from this man.
The first part, when he had the script in front of him was bearable but when the Q&A with the reporters started it was so unbearable I started counting them and came up with at least 127 uh's and um's! That many for real! In about 10 minutes!
There is no way he doesn't know, someone has to help him with this problem.
Bush was incredibly bad but this is right up there.
Maybe a Saturday Night Live skit of this would cure him. Something must be done.
I'm not the only one who has noticed this. Check out this clip...
http://technorati.com/videos/youtube.com%2Fwa...
Is that the worst thing we have to worry about?
Being able to uh, communicate uh, my um, uh message is uh, very uh, um important.
Stop with the ear-fucking!
right?
Where the Hell were you professional critiquers eight uh, uh ,uh years ago?
Ever been a little nervous sport?
OK, stammering your way through your first press conference as the soon-to-be leader of the free world is not only understandable, but actually-- get ready for it-- expected.
If he went out there and was superpolished in his off-the-cuff delivery, there'd be loads more complaints from the cynical blogosphere. "OMG, LOOK! He really IS the huckster people are making him out to be! He sounds like a Chicago pimp!"
What you're basically saying is that you equate an articulate man who uses audible pauses when he's nervous with a man who can't go five minutes without sounding like he's forming somewhat coherent sentences by accident.
Alarmist, much?
The OBGYNE love statement is one of my all time favorites.
The IDIOTs who plunged the ECONOMY into the drain IS still out of touch and in denial that it can not be stopped. It is the force of gravity and the laws of nature.
The IDIOTS that caused the GLOBAL collapse of the ECONOMY must allow the force of nature to frought and release the life of hell that this administration put the world in before any recovery will naturally follow.
WE can't continue throwing money into a problem that is so big to fix and hopefully clog the drain of a plunging economy. It is a disaster.
Like a toilet, once the system drains the fuild and waste; it will have to refill itself to make the system work again.
ASK: JOE the PLUMBER.
Bailout is NOT a fix. WE need a plunger to drain the waste away.
WALL STREET must take its course and BEAR with it. Anymore bailout is just another BULL****
Hey C&L, are you getting a good cheque from the right wing push pollsters over at SodaHead? Their banner ads are hilariously discordant with the tone of this blog. Always with the right wing fear based smear "surveys" like "are you ready to kiss your paycheck goodbye" or "Did Obama BUY the election?" or remember "Who Will Cheat on their Wives"? with a picture of a stern looking Barack and Michelle, and a happier looking Cindy and John. Of course, the answer was McCain had ALREADY!
Anyway, I guess I'm for free enterprise and I like seeing you get paid but those Conservative banners are jarring. No?
So Obama should use nicknames like turdblossom et al?
rip out a huge fart to see the reactions of the reporters.
I know how hard it is to put food on your family.
If the average person acted as delusionally as most of these RW idiots, they would be committed by their families for the rest of their lives. But this reminds me of when the MSM would go around saying hoe Shrub was fluent in Spanish, and every time the stupid mother-fucker would attempt to speak Spanish, it was like the first day in HS language class:
"Hola, Isabel. Como esta?"
Christ, what a fucking maroon.
I sincerely hope this guy is trolling and doesn't actually believe what he wrote. That is beyond stupid.
Here's another Bushism: "America stands for liberty, for the pursuit of happiness, and for the unalienalienable right of life"
Yes, we want our new president to be just like that. NOT!
Bailout is to AIG, Goldman Sach; etc,
is a way for CEO to loot the treasury before the stock plunges.
WE need a time-out and regroup before our nation HIT another trillion $ debts to fund the outgoing morons that damaged our economy.
It would be a regret to allow this to happen; for it will be the public who will be enslaved to carry this debt; while the criminals get away with murder and our wealth.
AMERICA must focus our energy and resources in ridding the problem and fixing the levy rather letting these criminal pirates sail away while we sink in our own soil.
[Would you not go off topic? If people start answering this, I'm going to delete-Sitemonitor]
He talks real good, And his grammar is much gooder than yours. So after you've mastered the English language, feel free to offer advice.
However, as long as you aren't talking so good yourself, STFU.
Bush's speech had so much impact, because people were aghast at his lack of everything, from the English language to Foreign and domestic affairs. Not because he was a compelling speaker -- or talker, as you would say, Einstein.
Funniest fucking bullshit I have all day. ^^^ Nice addition to your cred file, stupid.
Ooof. The ink in several of my mental red pens ran out during Chimpy's tenure--as an English teacher, it was sooo hard to hold myself back from correcting all that unbelievably bad grammar and mangled syntax.
But after Aug. 29th, Office Max got a little richer after Palin's mangled diction came along. All of us English teachers--and concerned citizens--wandering the aisles, hands cramped, red ink stains on our fingers....all just a memory now !
What was it boosh said about all our enemies never rest planning to do the US harm, and neither do we?
It's inconceivable that Hindraker believes this. It's a gag. There are multiple grimly comic books consisting of nothing but Bush's verbal horrors.
If the past eight years had been a porn film, Hindrocket is the "fluffer". You can wipe your chin now, dude.
He doesn't believe it anymore than Rush, Hannity or Beck believe their own bullshit; they are just in it for the money. And there's lots of money to be made from gullible republican idiot's.
"He chooses his words with care and precision, which is why his style sometimes seems halting. In the eight years he has been President, it is remarkable how few gaffes or verbal blunders he has committed."
remarkable how few gaffes? you could make a book with bush's gaffes? even wingnuts should be able to see that. right?

Obama thinks he is a good talker... this shows how this writer is a bad writer. One would never write 'Obama thinks he is a good talker' - speaker - dear one - speaker!
Obama thinks he is a good speaker...
We all know that Obama is a fabulous orator. Speaking is one of his fortes. His presentation is extraordinary and seldom found in politicians.
The guy who wrote this is a tool.
Bush's thousands of gaffs are surely the direct result of that wire in his ear that tells him what to say.
His stumbling and stupid jokes we can probably credit him with.
Do these right wing nuts not realise that Bush is the least popular president in over 100 years???? And they want Obama to be more like him??? Are they serious????
Use the same doors when departing the stage like Bush does.....like big oak ones with the big, shiny handles on doors that don't open.
Given the contempt the right wing has towards academia and people who are intelligent, I can only assume here that the right wing wants Obama to 'dumb down' his way of speaking, and not use so many 'big words' so that right wingers can understand him when he speaks.
Most right wingers I have encountered are inarticulate boobs, so it hardly comes as a surprise they would want Obama to simplify his vocabulary.
Remember the caller to Sam Seder's radio show, who attacked Sam and all liberals because we 'always use big words' when we speak?
Perhaps the right wing is now having the same anti intellectual bigotry against Obama.
Can you dumb down your post a bit: I'm trying to think? You lost me at that third word; the big one with a funny spelling.
Given the hate real Americans have for egg heads and people who are smarty pants liberals, I can only guess here that true patriots wants Obama to talk right, and not use so many ten dollar words so that Joe Plumber can hear him when he speaks.
Most flag loving Americans I have seen can't talk right, so it hardly comes as a surprise they would want Obama to talk straight.
Remember the caller to Sam Seder's radio show, who attacked Sam and all liberals because we 'always use big words' when we speak?
Perhaps the non traitors are now having the same anti edumacation reaction against Obama.
We're supposed to hold our children to higher standards and our schools are not doing a good job of educating.
Is it just me or does anyone else see the paradox here?
It is not only our excellent vocabulary that they detest (which I learned in my public high school thanks to a teacher who urged us to learn at least five or so new words each week and integrate them into our daily use. Hooray for public education!), but most people who are "true believers" have a distinct disdain for any of the sciences, whether that science be genetics, chemistry, or economics. Getting into any debate with a person who adheres to the fringe ideology of the right means that scientific evidence is bull hockey.
I'd expect nothing less delusional from John Hindraker from Power Line.
Does anyone else remember how Power Line billed themselves as non-partisan right after Bush got elected?
I love it when wingnuts play that game.
... a list of all of Bush's verbal manglings?
I mean, hasn't he heard of the "Bushisms" desk calendars?
I cannot believe the level of denial in some of these wingnuts. Utterly amazing. An entirely different universe altogether.
... for all of his "gaffes."
Reich-wingers hate language. They hate intelligence. Damn, they hate just about everything.
Here's the proof he's been looking for! We've just been visited by someone from an alternate universe.
"It must be very strange to be President Bush. A man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius, he can't get anyone to notice. He is like a great painter or musician who is ahead of his time, and who unveils one masterpiece after another to a reception that, when not bored, is hostile."
—John Hinderaker, Power Line Blog, July 28, 2005.
Methinks I detect a certain inappropriate, well lets call it "attachment" to Dubya. Can't think of another explanation.
His name is "Hinderaker" - sheesh! I think your thesis is apropos...
I feel dirty after reading that.
That guy clearly has issues that only
consuming GWB's man goo will cure.
Holy shit, this guy's family needs to step in and get him some counseling.
I'll give him credit...most people who are that insane are either living on the street or in an institute.

A compendium, or should I say compendidumb of the many gaffes of Dear Leader
enjoy!
My favorite Bushism is:
George W. Bush, asked if the tide was turning in Iraq, Washington, D.C., June 14, 2006:
"I think -- tide turning -- see, as I remember -- I was raised in the desert, but tides kind of -- it's easy to see a tide turn -- did I say those words?" --
"Bush never gets sloppy when he is speaking publicly."
I really chortled when I read that line. Has this dude ever seen a Bush press conference? Has he never heard Bush try and pronounce the word "nuclear"?
One of the things I most look forward to with Obama as President is not feeling embarrassed when our President speaks in public.
for eight years we've cringed, winced, and looked away whenever he spoke. After hearing O last Tusday night--speaking EXTEMPORE!!--I thought, "at LAST!!"
And not just that he sounds good--he actually sounds like he can be President. I CAN'T WAIT to hear him called MR PRESIDENT!
I guess people really did drink the Kool-Aid. I'm gobsmacked by this post. Only in an idiocracy would George W. Bush be considered a decent speaker or even a great orator.
If Bush were to end up in an Idiocracy future, unlike Luke Wilson's character he would be of absolutely no help.
"In the eight years he has been President, it is remarkable how few gaffes or verbal blunders he has committed."
I can't read that with a straight face. I don't care how spiked your kool-aid is, you can't type that with a straight face either. No politician in the history of recorded speech has made more verbal gaffes than Dumbya. To quote Klondike Kat, and trust me, this is not something I do every day, Bush "made mincemeat out of" that mouth.
Has to be a joke. Has. To. Be.
I won't go to Cracked.com today; this post is too much fun for one day.
...you're plainly going for laughs, right? I mean, no one can be that stupid and live, right? Hold on while I click on the link and...
OMFG!!!! He's serious???????
wat! bush has a reputation for being a horrible speaker. what is this guy on, I want some!
Or does "Hinderaker" sound like a Dickensian name for the character who is a Pain in the Ass?
it sounds more like a Steinbeck character who doesn't know his head from his ass.
well if anybody deserves the title "wingnut" it's Hinderaker.
...uh...can't get fooled again.

I had an exchange of emails with Hinderaker once, in the belief I was speaking with a human being I could reason with. As time wore on it became indisputably apparent that he does not use logic or reason, lies with impunity and was wasting my time, and enjoying it immensely. Read the definition of a sociopath; it describes him aptly.
My advice is to ignore what he says (because its always bullshit), but, by all means, hold the msm accountable for the airtime they give him (except for Fox, don't waste your time with them either)
"There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee - that says, fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again." -George W. Bush, Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002
In worshipping and raising stupidity and abject ignorance to newer heights, it is common knowledge that Republicans are simply in a class by themselves. They consider such 2nd-grade (and 2nd rate) intellects as Sarah Palin stars of their ilk; braying maniacs such as Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly are their media superstars; dazzling creationists and intelligent design peddlers are their inspirational models.
But even by these abysmal measures of glorified stupidity, inanity and dark-age mindsets- this Hinderaker outperforms them all (even if the competition is tremendous)!
A bumbling, tongue-tied, speech-impaired, pathetic and clueless tower of moronic stupidity, who has become a worldwide symbol of shame and derision for this country (not counting his vicious, destructive legacy, his extreme war crimes and genocide, his treasonous acts of spying on Americans, violations of civil rights, trampling international law and the Geneva Conventions, torture, renditions, Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib- and on and on- crimes worthy of Nuremberg and impeachment many times over)- such an abysmal sample of human waste IS A SHINING EXAMPLE OF SPEECH AND COHERENCE TO THIS IRREDEEMABLY PATHETIC FOOL.
I think these stupendous idiots that have polluted the airwaves and mass media for so long (almost interminably)- the only right thing to do is to purposely ignore them, and drive them into oblivion. In reality, of course, this will never happen. Part of the reason is that there are their intellectual brethren in the MSM (Tweety, Tim Russert, the murderous Faux Snooze clowns- I do not consider any of these vigorous intellectual minds, by a longshot) who will keep these fools in the public airwaves to celebrate ignorance, as insulting as this might be to normal, bright, rational people.
OMG, I think I just entered bizarro world. This joker can't possibly be serious, can he???
*holds up my collection of Bushisms books*
Delusional on a level that is plainly frightening.
It's scary that these nuts actually do believe this nonsense.
This is not only disturbing but one of the stupidest observations I can remember reading anywhere on the Tubes.
All this gaffe talk isn't important.
What's important is whether the new president is going to help Americans put food on their children.
I swear, this John Hinderaker and folks like him are determined to keep Saturday Night Live in business forever.
This is the funniest political commentary I have ever heard.
Bush a clear talker? Ha Ha Ha. you could fill a library with books about his mangling of the English language.
These right wing nuts are just pathological liars. They can't help it. The sky is red. Grass is blue. Up is down. Dubya is a great orator. Keep it coming! We're laughing! Laughing you fools! Laughing at YOU!
What "Bush" is this guy talking about?? Go to the "humor" section of any bookstore in America and there will be entire books of dumb shit this asshat has said!
For Obama to emulate Bush would be like a fine artist unloading his academic training in order to paint like Grandma Moses. It can't be done. (Google Grandma Moses, she might like it).
Oh come on, liberals. Hinderaker is merely trying to convince station owners that Bush deserves a talk radio program. This would greatly benefit Jon Stewart and others.
Bush may have his problems but at least he believes in a world where man and fish can exist in peaceful coexistence.
One thing that really appeals to me about Obama is that he _does_ answer thoughtfully like a college professor. After eight years (really 16 years) of fake "Aw, shuck-ins. I's just folk." I was concerned that his demeanor could be an issue. Thank goodness I was wrong. Yes, we can. Yes, we can rise up and act like an intelligent nation again.
Bush is about the most inarticulate president we've had in at least a century, and this guy thinks he's a great orator?
This is the same mentality that pronounced that bobblehead B-movie actor Reagan "The Great Communicator".
Or as George Bush might say: "The great commooni-, uh, comminu-, uh... he was a good talker."
And now that myth has become a part of our phony history. And so I believe this is just a part of the usual rewriting of history to make Bush look less dim-witted than he actually is, when kids read about him 10 years from now.
A post like this helps relieve the pain of the last eight years.
I'm not one who forwards links to people very often, but I forwarded this to everyone I know with this comment:
One person replied "does gravity work sideways in his world?"
I believe that we need to find common ground with conservatives of ideological opponents; Obama won a convincing victory but it wasn't a landslide. But how can you find common ground with people who are working from completely different facts and perceptions? This goes beyond being selective, it is willful distortion.
I know this makes me a 'hater' (an epithet which for some reason only applies to people on the left), but there are some things to which ridicule and mockage are the only appropriate response.
Earlier this year C&L ran this item about a Fox News valentine to President Bush which included the narrator delivering an equally hilarious line:
The Daily Show had the appropriate reaction:
Or maybe by what people say on web sites. If you repeat it often enough, people will think it's true. Hey, it's worked OK up until recently.
"Bush never gets sloppy when he is speaking publicly."
