In the late 80's I was working at Sire Records and Seymour Stein, the head honcho, signed a band from Cincinnati and Columbus called the Royal Crescent Mob. I fell in love with one of their songs, "Na Na Na" and after that, always thought they were from Louisiana. They were peripherally part of the punk scene but their music was more funk than punk and they had more in common with George Clinton than with The Ramones.
