Captain Ron Johnson delivered an apology and statement of solidarity to the family of Michael Brown today that should be preserved for the ages.

There isn't much to write about this speech because it just stands on its own as a moment of amazing transparency and character.

When Johnson describes his own son, it's apparent just how deeply this past week has wounded him, as it has the community as a whole.

I don't think it's possible to watch him and not be moved. Or changed.
