Hi, everyone. Last time I was here, it was Super Bowl Sunday. I was horribly wrong about that game, picking the Panthers to win big, but I certainly wasn't alone in that prediction. Just as I wasn't alone in thinking that eventually Trump would fade, the so-called GOP "Establishment" would reassert itself over a divided party, and an acceptable vessel of conservative orthodoxy, like Rubio, would surge (or, rather, be surged) to the nomination.
Instead, fascism! Or at least something resembling it, at least in and around Trump, who is only channeling that which Republicans tried for so long to keep hidden, and to deny, with the only alternative seeming now to be Cruz, who is even more ideologically extreme. So it's hilarious, isn't it, that conservatives are now freaking out over Obama's trip to Cuba, as if that is somehow America's bridge too far. Because Republicans love liberty so very, very much, no?
