Donald Trump probably lit up a few True Haters in the Republican Party today when he spoke for the rights of businessmen over the rights of haters in North Carolina, while welcoming Caitlin Jenner to the ladies' rooms in Trump Hotels.
Transgender rights were not really on his mind, as far as I can tell. This was more of a dollars and cents thing, but don't tell the hard-liners on the right that.
“You know, there’s a big move to create new bathrooms,” Trump explained. “The problem with that — for transgender [people] — first of all, I think that would be discriminatory in a certain way. It would be unbelievably expensive for businesses and for the country.”
“Leave it the way it is,” the candidate recommended.
