Sen. Marco Rubio joined CNN's State of the Union, hosted by Jake Tapper and gave a lengthy interview about his presidential run, Chris Christie, Jeb Bush and Donald Trump.

He was asked about Trump's unsavory behavior and didn't defend it, but now that he's endorsing Trump, he's excusing it because Donald has been successful using it.

One of the defining moments of his campaign was when he had become frustrated by his standing in the presidential primary and Trump's attacks on him, so he decided to fight fire with fire and and he jumped in the gutter with both feet when he mocked the size of Trump's hands.

He's like 6'2'' which is why I don't understand why his hands are the size of someone who is 5'2". Have you seen his hands?"

"And you know what they say about guys with small hands, (pause) You can't trust 'em!"

I imagine, this is the first time in the modern history of presidential politics that a candidate mocked the size of his opponent's penis.

And Trump doesn't let even the slightest insult go by, so you knew he was going to broach the subject, and he did during a Fox News GOP Presidential debate.

"He hit my hands. Nobody has ever hit my hands, I've never heard of this word - look at those hands. Are they small hands? if they're small something else must be small. I guarantee you there's no problem. There's no problem?"

I'm only surprised that he didn't ask they audience if they "wanted to see for themselves."

Yes, this was one of many low points during the 2016 GOP presidential primaries, folks. But at least he could say to his supporters 'I tried to take him down with his own tactics,' but instead, he admitted to CNN that he kissed the ring.

Rubio told Jake Tapper that he had apologized to Trump, off camera about those comments.

He said, "I actually told Donald -- one of the debates, I forget which one -- I apologized to him for that. I said, 'You know, I'm sorry that I said that. It's not who I am and I shouldn't have done it.' I didn't say it in front of the cameras, I didn't want any political benefit."

Roboto obviously wants credit now since he admitted to it on TV. Rubio has destroyed his brand and today's interview did not help him at all.
