Those of you who know me, or who have just encountered me here at C&L, know that I'm Canadian. But I'm actually a dual citizen of Canada and the U.K. Well, what a time it's been to be British, and more specifically English: first "Brexit," which will prove to be a disaster (though I actually don't think it'll happen), and then, yesterday, that embarrassing debacle against soccer non-superpower Iceland, a 2-1 loss at Euro 2016.
Mrs. Miniver happened a long time ago, people, and it was just a movie. But England is no longer what it once was, warts and all, and that's actually a good thing. Move forwards, not backwards, embracing Europe, and difference, and multiculturalism, and accept the fact that you have the most underperforming, and, yes, pathetic, national team in the history of sports. It's called reality.
Bark Bark Woof Woof: The Stonewall designation is a major historical milestone.
Perrspectives: Republicans have long been Viagrafying reality (e.g., Trump's penis).
Rewire: There's nothing wrong with being "pro-abortion."
Outside the Beltway: SCOTUS's abortion ruling will have a huge impact.
Anyway, speaking of Iceland, I raise a glass of delicious Brennivin to that amazing country. Skál! You deserved the win. Best of luck against the French.
Round-up by Michael J.W. Stickings of The Reaction. (Twitter: @mjwstickings.) I'll be here all week.
