Rep. Trey Gowdy showed up in television land to prove he really isn't the brightest bulb in the pack, no matter what they say about him. Never mind that he led the Benghazi witchhunt to its logical nothingburger conclusion, because who needs to actually know the law to cite it?

On MSNBC this morning, Gowdy defended FBI Director Comey's obviously political move on Friday by reminding everyone that President Obama is out campaigning so what Hatch Act?

In response to Mika's question about whether Comey violated the Hatch Act, Gowdy snarled, "I mean President Obama is actively campaigning right now for a candidate for president. And that doesn't violate the Hatch Act. So how Jim Comey supplementing his record before Congress violates the Hatch Act is just laughable."

Except for the fact that President Obama isn't subject to the Hatch Act, the same way Trey Gowdy isn't subject to the Hatch Act!

And this guy is touted as an awesome prosecutor! Vote them all out.
