After Newt Gingrich demonstrated how to bully women on the air, Donald Trump made a point of congratulating him for his "amazing interview" with Megyn Kelly.

But wait!, you say. The Donald loves women. All the women. He's not a bully or an abuser. He just loves the women, right?

“Congratulations on that interview last night,” Trump purred to Newt. “That was an amazing interview. We don't play games, Newt."

This tracks with what his supporters were trying to do on social media last night, particularly Twitter. After I published our article on his behavior with Kelly, many, many Trump trolls crawled out of the woodwork to inform me in no uncertain terms that Newt put that woman in her place.

Protip: If you want women to vote for you, don't bully them. Especially if your opponent is a woman.
