North Carolina Coup Is About Old Timey White Supremacy

Everything old is still here in the Republican North Carolina Legislature.

Reminds one of the good old days.

When Southern Whites called local NAACP protestors "outside agitators."

When good ol' boy sheriffs arrested reporters...

And when voter suppression helped maintain all-white power statewide:

(Dallas Woodhouse is the Chairman of the NC GOP. And yeah, that's totally a name right outta Charles Dickens. Kinda like "Bull Connor.")

The most blatant act appears to be the "splitting" of the Election Board majority. Under the Republican plan, Republicans get control in even (election) years, and Democrats get control in odd (non-election years). Of the Election Board!

As one commenter noted, this is the equivalent of giving the Democrats a sled on the way up, and Republicans get the sled on the way down.
