Apparently, this week was supposed to be about tax cuts for billionaires reform.

Whoops.

Not when the Congress is trying desperately to unlock Koch money by killing us.

And the so-called President has no interest in actual policy. (The White House isn't actually coming up with a tax plan after promising they would for months,)

But the conversation above with Bloomberg's Marty Schenker makes a really important point: Steve Mnuchin was supposed to go on the Sunday Shows this weekend to lie about how tax cuts would yield 4% growth in the GDP. The same lie Republican supply-siders have told since the days of George W. Bush. It's a lie, Bloomberg knows it's a lie, the Wall Street Journal knows it's a lie, everybody knows. But it's a lie that lets rich people get their goddamn tax cuts so they keep saying it and then ignoring its blatant falseness.

And the lying script of Steve Mnuchin was interrupted by Donald Trump's feud with the NFL...

...which is about race and police brutality, whatever the so-called president says to the contrary.

As Axios pointed out this morning, "Any time you have to say something's not about race, you have a problem."

But Donald Trump has another problem: by using yet another culture war trope to distract his 39% (the only people who matter to him, apparently) from his failure to commit to, let alone pass, any of his domestic agenda items in 9 months of power, he also ticks off the Koch brothers and their economic peers.

Distracting the mob is what Trump does best. Koch billionaires got where they are by staying decidedly "not distracted."

Watch out, Donald. The funders of the Republican Party will not look kindly on not getting their goddamn tax cuts. Distract from that goal and even Mitch McConnell might look at how to get rid of you and your failed White House. Koch money obviously trumps (pun intended) every constituent, and all reason, when it comes to health care policy. Who's to say it won't deliver a call for your resignation for failure to come through with their mob payback?
