WATCH LIVE: House Judiciary Committee Questions Acting AG Matt Whitaker

After initially balking, Matt Whitaker has agreed to appear before the House Judiciary Committee for an oversight hearing on the Department of Justice.

On Thursday, everyone was holding their collective breath over whether Matt Whitaker would defy a request to appear before the House Judiciary Committee for an oversight hearing. Whitaker was balking because he did not want the committee to subpoena him to testify, causing him to refuse to testify if they chose to go that route.

Apparently Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler calmed the waters and assured him that he could appear in a safe space sheltered from subpoenas, so game on!
