Former President Donald Trump lashed out at Ron DeSantis (R) on the campaign trail this weekend, criticizing the Florida Governor for how he has managed the COVID-19 pandemic and calling him "disloyal." Trump bizarrely claimed that DeSantis “promoted the vaccine as much as anyone.”
“When I hear that he might [run], I think it’s very disloyal,” Trump said.
DeSantis just threw a little shade at Trump, and I'm sure the one-term President won't take it very well.
On Tuesday, the Florida governor responded to Trump's criticism, saying that, unlike with the former President’s 2020 bid, voters re-elected him.
“You take a crisis situation like Covid, the good thing about it is that when you’re an elected executive, you have to make all kinds of decisions, you’ve got to steer that ship,” DeSantis said to a question about Trump's recent attacks. “And the good thing is that people are able to render a judgment on that: whether they re-elect you or not.”
“I’m happy to say in my case, not only did we win re-election, we won with the highest percentage of the vote that any Republican governor candidate has in the history of the state of Florida,” DeSantis said.
“What I would say is that verdict has been rendered by the people of the state of Florida,” he added.
Watch:
Trump is a thin-skinned narcissist who bullies anyone who dares to criticize him. I think we'll need more popcorn because DeSantis hasn't even thrown his hat in the ring yet.
