You know, I'll bet Kevin McCarthy just might start to worry about getting rid of proxy voting.
Yesterday Florida congress critter Greg Steube fell off his roof and is in the hospital, which leaves Kevin with a two-vote margin. His caucus might start to get Manchin-and-Sinema-type ideas!
"Congressman Steube was involved in an accident on his property late this afternoon and has sustained several injuries. We will provide additional updates when possible. Please pray for the Congressman and his family," Steube's office said in a statement on Twitter.

Steube is your basic Florida-issue MAGAt. He's a member of the Freedumb caucus and the Republican (Can't) Study Committee. He supports the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, he signed on to oppose the certification of Joe Biden's election, he voted by proxy on several issues citing the pandemic -- but he was really off enjoying himself at CPAC.
He also voted against giving the Congressional Gold Medal to the police officers who defended the Capitol.
I will give him exactly the same amount of caring and compassion he has given his fellow humans -- which is to say, not much at all.
