According to Real Clear Politics, former President Donald Trump isn't doing well. Trump left office as the least popular President in this history of polling, with 34% favorability. RCP has him at an average of 38.6% favorability, with 56.0 percent perceiving him unfavorably.

But Trump doesn't want you to look at his poll numbers because he knows they're bad. The one-term President took to Truth Social to say that his poll numbers are "higher than ever before."

"For all of my many supporters, and the number is higher than ever before, I am pleased to report that "our" Poll numbers are Excellent," he insisted. "Polls are important, but many have proven to be so corrupt, wrong, or incompetent in the past, especially, those of ABC FAKE NEWS/WASHINGTON COMPOST; FOX FAKE NEWS; and NBC FAKE NEWS/GLOBALIST STREET JOURNAL, that they have become somewhat meaningless, just a political weapon. CNN Polls no longer matter in that so few people are watching CNN (and MSDNC) anymore!"

According to FiveThirtyEight, National polls of a hypothetical 2024 Republican presidential primary between just Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump since the 2022 midterms show the Florida governor doing very well. On average, DeSantis has 48% to Trump's 43%.

In 2017, Trump falsely tweeted that "Any negative polls are fake news, just like the CNN, ABC, NBC polls in the election."

He's just a disgraceful liar. Sure, poll numbers have failed us before, but he's saying that every poll except for the ones he cherry picks are wrong.
