Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is in East Palestine, Ohio in response to the 38-car train that crashed earlier this month and has raised some serious health and environmental concerns for the town's residents. According to data, from 1990 to 2021 there were an average of 1,705 train derailments per year, but conservatives are using this particular one as a rallying cry against the Biden administration.
There were train derailments during Trump's one term in office, but his now-former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao never visited the sites.
Of course, Donald Trump, along with his son, Junior visited the area as a photo-op for the scandal-plagued former president. And now Junior and former Trump official Richard Grenell are piling on Buttigieg because his arms are folded. Seriously.
His arms are probably folded after looking at the mess that Trump is responsible for after the former President rolled back an Obama-era regulation requiring new brake systems on oil trains.
