The South Carolina Senator and performative bigot-on-demand plans to introduce legislation to approve a military attack on Mexico.
March 7, 2023

Sen. Lindsey Graham told Fox News' Jesse Watters Monday that he plans to introduce legislation to tell Mexico if they will not stop protecting drug cartels, the US will use military force to do so.

Graham was riffing off a story about four Americans being kidnapped in Matamoros Mexico when two rival cartels were in the midst of hostile actions according to the President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

(The US State Department has already warned all citizens not to travel to Matamoros.)

Graham has turned into a MAGA supporter, so he said he'd follow the former guy's ideas.

"I’d do what Trump did. I’d put Mexico on notice. ‘If you continue to give safe haven to fentanyl drug dealers, then you’re an enemy of the United States.'”

(Mexico is one of the US's biggest trading partners and buyers of US goods. I doubt that would help our economy or ease inflation concerns.)

Then piggybacking off of Marjorie Taylor Greene, Sen. Graham set the stage for a possible war with Mexico.

The South Carolina Senator seems to love Bill Barr too.

“I’m going to introduce legislation, Jesse, to make certain Mexican drug cartels foreign terrorist organizations under U.S. law and set the stage to use military force if necessary to protect America from being poisoned by things coming out of Mexico,” Graham said. “I would tell the Mexican government, ‘If you don’t clean up your act, we’re gonna clean it up for you.'”

There is no way this crackpot legislation sees the light of day, but it fuels more anger in resentment throughout the MAGA cult.

Performative racism for the Fox audience, same as it ever was.
