MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell took ex-Trump attorney Timothy Parlatore to task over the former President's handling of classified documents in the wake of the news that Special Counsel Jack Smith will be ready to issue indictments soon.
Parlatore was part of a team handling the Justice Department's classified documents investigation, and O'Donnell promptly called Trump out.
"Let's assume that he (Trump) doesn't have any idea what's in the boxes in the basement of his Florida residence," O'Donnell said. "Let me ask you this, does he know what's in his desk?"
"I would think that he probably would," Parlatore said.
"Why was there a classified document found by the FBI with their search warrant in his desk?" O'Donnell asked.
"The problem there, I can't answer that because I don't have an inventory to know what it was," Parlatore responded.
"Here's what we know," O'Donnell said before murdering the attorney. "Classified document found in his desk, but without knowing what the document is. What we do know is it's a marked classified document. It's in his desk, okay? It's not down in the basement in a box. It's in his desk. All you need for a criminal case is one of these; that's all you need, so you've got one very, very smoky gun in his desk."
"There's never been a word of explanation from the defense team or from Donald Trump about that document which is the smokiest gun you've gotten the whole thing," he added.
Parlatore continued to try to argue with O'Donnell, but he kept flailing. I doubt he'll go on O'Donnell's show again.
