Eric Hovde thinks that the community should have a say on what a woman can do with her body and make her medical choices for her.

During an interview with Matt Smith of WISN-TV's UpFront program, Pornstache Carpetbagger, er, I mean California banker Eric Hovde, spoke about abortion. Hovde's has had many, many different takes on abortion and it continues to shift on a regular basis. During this particular interview, Hovde said that he would like the community to vote on a referendum about what women can and cannot do with her body. Healthcare by committee, if you will:

I think we have to find a compassionate common -sense solution to you know bring our state together on this issue. I believe it should go to a referendum so every voter should have a right to vote on it and I'll have my vote everybody else will have their vote. I believe in the beauty of life I have two daughters three grandchildren, but I also believe an exception for rape incest and the health of the mother, and I think early on in a woman's pregnancy she should have a right to choose. If you look at most of Western Europe they resolved this decades ago. I mean you know I think Germany's at 12 weeks France is at 14 weeks almost all of Western Europe allows a woman the right to choose in the first trimester but there becomes a point when a baby can be born healthy and alive that I'm opposed to having an abortion.

News flash for Pornstache: Women's bodies are not communal property. The community has no more say to what a women chooses to do with her body than any individual, other than the woman herself. It doesn't matter if you or anyone else disapproves because it's not your body.

Another news flash is that France just made abortion a constitutional right for women. Yet somehow, I just cannot picture Hovde agreeing to follow European countries quite that far. That just wouldn't be fascist enough for his taste.

I can't help but wonder how he would feel if people got to choose the fate of his pornstache or better yet, his Laguna Beach mansion.
