According to the chief judge of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, William H. Pryor Jr., the court has received more than 1,000 complaints about Trump’s favorite judge (and the love is obviously reciprocal) just since May 16. In his order directing the clerk to stop accepting complaints about Cannon, Pryor wrote that the post-May 16 complaints “raise allegations that are substantially similar to the allegations raised in previous complaints” and “appear to be part of an orchestrated campaign.”

He went on to order the clerk “not to accept the judicial complaints against Judge Cannon received on and after May 16, 2024, under Rule 10(b) to the extent they are similar to previously filed complaints.” I’m not a lawyer but that seems to say that if you can make a new argument, the clerk will accept the complaint. The order spells out which complaints have already been received and dismissed.

But there’s also this intriguing sentence about complaints received before May 16, 2024: “Some of those complaints have been acted upon, and others will be acted upon in due course.” Do I dare to hope the 11th Circuit may actually do something about a judge who has been ripped by other judges and even Trump’s own former White House attorney?

In any event, I see no reason not to continue complaining about Cannon to the 11th Circuit. Whether the complaints are accepted or not, they still send a message.

While I was thinking about writing this post, I happened to receive an email notifying me of a website that provides detailed instructions on filing complaints against Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas as well as Judge Cannon. It’s called DumpAlito.com.
